AP Podcast
Haven’t listened yet, but they just launched.
“Welcome to the AP TALKS Podcasts, a new series of conversation presenting Audemars Piguet’s craftsmanship, heritage and cultural universe through the eyes of Audemars Piguet’s experts and special guests.” https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas...s/id1644835240 Hoping for some cool guests - they already had FHB on there.

I listened to it yesterday. Some of the highlights for me:
- 50,000 to be produced this year - on average they make around 1,000 QP per year - very interesting background story behind the 3132 movement in the Openworked DB wheel and the QP movement, where for the QP they didn’t have lots of work back in 2014 - the jumbo really took after the 40th anniversary of the model |

The 1,000 QP stat was interesting, higher than I expected. The two stats I had heard were 10 steel, 3 codes for North America per year.
Even if we assume 10 each for the other RO QP variants (seems likely to be less?), the total would be well below my assumption of a ~15% (~150 QPs) market share for North America. Any other datapoints on this? |

Probably not going to happen...but man I wish the Jumbo would go back to the unpopular one. Then I could maybe get an allocation!
Listened to both of the Podcasts. They are relatively short at 22 minutes each. Very enjoyable and I hope they keep doing them periodically. I don't have the book in front of my as I am still in the office, but in I believe volume 3 of the books they did this year....it talks about total Jumbo's made since introduction. I was very surprised and wonder if it was a typo? It only worked out to like 625 per year since 74. |
