Rolex Precision WR?
Hello everyone, could someone please tell me how water resistant a 1977 Rolex Precision is, obviously depends how good the seals are etc.. but would it be ok in heavy rain, as I got caught in a heavy downpour earlier and my watch got soaked, seems fine though. Just made me wonder how WR they are?
Cheers guys and gals |

If it's an Oyster case and the seals are intact, it is waterproof to 100 meters..

1977 would be plastic.....50 meters
But a REAL 50 meters, not the "be careful washing your hands" 50 Meters other brands feature. You could probably scuba dive with it. |

Of the plastic Oysters of the time the Sea-dweller was resistant to 600 meters, the Submariners to 200 meter, the Explorers (1016 and 1655) to 100 meters, and the rest to 50 meters. But: Since it is a manual wind, make sure you have fresh gaskets and a fairly new crystal - and of course a pressure test done. Best, A |
