Requesting help. Wife gifting me 1675 for my BDay, is this one ok?

Anyone familiar with this seller?
I know this appears polished, which doesn't bother me
I know it is a luminova service dial and hands (but I LOVE functional lume) and what appears to be a service bezel (I'm on the lookout for a nice Pink Panther)
I prefer the older larger lume plots withOUT the gold surround so the 1675 seems right for me :0)
Is it easy to check with Rolex to verify this was serviced in 2022 as the seller claims?

It appears it was listed as "sold" down the page but has been relisted, I think it is the same one since it is listed as a 1968 GMT that was serviced 4/22

Now, I'm also interested in the 16700 because I really like the idea of a sapphire crystal so I don't have to worry about constantly scratching the crystal like I do on my vintage divers. Here is one at HQ Milton which is close to me :0)~

That would remove any doubts about authenticity

between the liking the larger lume plots of the 1675 or the care-freeness of having a sapphire crystal over a delicate acrylic crystal, I'm heavily leaning toward the sapphire crystal as I would like to make this a daily wearing watch.

If you don't mind a service watch, this could be for you. It seems they have become popular lately. I have a buyer now that has me looking for a service GMT for him.

As far as this example goes, I would want to see photos between the lugs and inner case back and movement. Make sure there isn't excessive corrosion in these areas. Also make sure the stamping between each set of lugs is still legible.

Another question, as I'm leaning toward the 16700 because I prefer the sapphire and thinner case, have any of the 16700 inserts ever faded to the pink panther, or is that only the previous 1675 inserts that can do that?

I'm ok (if price reflected) with service parts like plexi, crown, clasp and even hands.

However, personally, I wouldn't buy a 'Swiss' service dial version, as I had an almighty time trying to get sensible money for a 1675 that a friend had bought in 2017 (receipted RSC swiss dial)a year or so ago.

We got about 2/3 the going rate for here it here in UK, which was a big chunk off for a service dial, but then again small red (service) Daytonas sell for about 2/3 of big reds so not that surprising perhaps.

Btw his service swiss dial lume plots were a very slightly light blue shade that just looked a bit odd and somewhat overly contemporaneous !

Nothing wrong with a watch with service parts, but I don't think I'd pay $12.5k + tax for a watch with no collectible value. That's just flushing money down the toilet, as Paul implied.

I have no idea what "pink panther" is supposed to mean. Yet another silly nickname I guess. Fuchsia bezel maybe?

Yes, all aluminum inserts can fade, depending on how they've been worn during their lifetime.

Here's one of my (former) 16700s with a nicely faded insert .... which thankfully I still have!

I guess one benefit for dealers to invent all of these stupid nicknames is that if someone uses them, you know they're a newbie and are probably willing to pay a silly price.

I´d go with this one! It has a much nicer case which is important I think. The 1675 has very soft edges due to polishing.
