Dark INCOMING just in time for Halloween
Couldn't get the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic out of my mind since trying one out at my AD nearly three months ago https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=864313 This is a watch that looks WAY better live than it does in photos. You'll hear that over and over from owners. It just wows you in the metal (well ceramic LOL)
Found a good deal on a pre-owned model complete with stickers that honestly I doubt was ever worn. Originally purchased in May this year so tons of warranty left. First impressions, I really love it. It gives that beautiful dark black vibe but (and this is an importang "but") the dial is extremely legible. The hands and idices just pop off the dial and no problem reading the time. At night the lume is amazing, like most Tudors. The dial itself is a jet black with just the right amount of sheen. The weight is reduced thanks to the ceramic case. I really enjoy the sand blasted look of the case and the tiny polished section at top of the case running lug to lug. The watch is a joy to wind like pretty much all Tudors with that big crown and no guards. Just a beautiful and sleek look all around. They did a couple great things on this model that I hope they extend to the whole Black Bay 41 lineup. The overall thickness of the watch has been reduced and what I really like is they have shaved some of the height off the case sides. You can really see and feel the difference vs the standard Black Bay 41's. I also like the addition of the display case back that shows off the METAS certified chronometer blackened movement! Only complaint I can come up with so far is the standard strap is pretty short. I have a 7.5" wrist and I'm on literally the last hole of the strap. I'm also not a big fan of how Tudor deployments point the loose end of the strap toward the body. I just have never understood why they do that. The rubber/leather hybrid strap is really nice quality and comfortable though. Love the small touches like the cream color stitching that matches the hands and the rubber on the underside protecting the strap from sweat. high quality strap for sure. I already have an order in for a Vanguard rubber strap that I plan to use as the primary strap. Also plan to wear it on the supplied fabric strap. I'll try to get that on later today and add a couple photos. But really happy with this one. I have a feeling this will be seeing a lot of wrist time and excited to have a full black watch like this |

Looks great. The idea of a near scratch proof watch also appeals to me.

Congrats, Mike! Agreed, the ceramic is a fantastic watch.
One good thing about being on the last hole, though, is there's not much end left to get caught on stuff. |

The way the strap is attached is pretty standard for watches. It's to make it easier to put on and take off. Congratulations. How's the weight feel?

Weight is really nice. It's not a light as you might think it would be given the ceramic case, but it's subtantially lighter than the steel versions of this watch. I like the weight personally. Too light and it starts to feel like a toy watch. |

Major congrats, a waaaay cool timepiece.
Did you use your phone on the METAS card to see the results? If I may suggest, also check Amazon for straps. The one below also comes in black with red stitching. 248898166_2282933438509691_1047766778410371085_n.jpg

Your's looks great on that strap. I'm going to give the Vanguard a shot and then see if I want to add any more straps at that point |

Big congrats on the pick-up, Mike. It's really bad-a$$. Could you utilize a leather hole punch to add another hole in the strap for a bit more length? If not, it sounds like you have plenty of other strap options. I hope you thoroughly enjoy the watch.

Thank you both
I'm good on the last hole so I don't need to add any holes. Of course my pefect length would be about half way betwen the last and second to last hole which is something many of us have gone through. One sligtly too long, the other slightly too short. In the end I prefer the comfort so a tiny bit too loose is ok with me. Thanks for the comments |

Finally got it on the fabric strap. The tolerances on Tudors are ridiculous. I don't think I've ever struggled that much to get a damn STRAP off a watch before, sheesh! Looks amazing on the nato IMO. I'll probably keep it on this until the Vanguard gets here. Tudor makes incredible natos.

The best of the Black. Bays in my opinion. I want to get a Bund Strap (black suede maybe) to throw it on. Any recommendations from anyone?
