Datejust all in yellow gold

Hello friends
I am looking for a Rolex Datejust with calender that is entirely in yellow gold. There isn't on the Rolex website in either 41mm or 36mm but I'm sure they were made in at least 36mm at one time. Could you let me know if so what model number I should look for. I would like it with an Oyster bracelet and smooth bezel.
Thank you in advance.

There have been several 36mm Datejusts made in all gold and you'll find them as various model numbers in the 1600 or 16000 series.

It's going to be difficult to find the exact specification you are looking for as most Datejusts had the fluted bezel and most all gold ones had either the Jubilee bracelet, or later on, a President bracelet.

The only one I know of that fits your requirements of 36mm, all gold, smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet is the 16008 from the late 1970s:

Rolex no longer makes the DateJust in solid gold, but did in the past.

The models I have are the
116138 w/ leather strap
116238 - w/ gold jubilee bracelet; and
6605 vintage from the 1950s.

Thanks guys.

I had been after a roulette wheel 6605 for about 10 years until i found this on at vintage dealer in FL.

The 116238 I was able to order with that dial from AD, back in the day when you could still do that with Rolex.

and the 116138 I was able to pick up at a discount when my AD was retiring and selling out his shop. It was one of the last Rolex's he had left.... looked so lonely sitting there.

Why only after the 6605, didn't you ever consider the 6305 too?

Very nice, I just purchased a 6605 as well and definitely love it.

Personally, I like how a good condition watch from the 50s looks almost the same as a new watch. At least to non-Rolex experts who know what to look for.
