116500 Panda vs 116515 RG Choco

hello guys i'm very torn between buying 116500 Panda or the 116515 RG choco
both are brand new,and the 116515 RG Daytona Choco oysterflex is 10$k more expensive than Panda. Both are priced a lot more than the retail prices.
in terms of the value,do you guys think 116515RG or the Panda 116500 would retain the value better? thank you so Much
is PM Daytona with oysterflex very hard to get at retail nowadays ? because back in the days it's very easy to get one at retail

I would start by what overall look you are trying to get. One is very bright and crispy and the other dark and warm.

The stainless variants (116500), are the “iconic” ones and are likely to retain value better. They are also much easier to wear as an everyday watch. But with that said buy the watch you like more, if you like the look of gold go with that don’t just buy the one that’s retains value better that’s quite shallow.

That’s a good way to describe them … two completely different vibes.

I would rather buy the one I love to wear the most and don't worry about future value.

To me PM timepieces are better looking than SS.

Thanks a lot for the replies guys.
I like them both equally for the looks
That’s why it’s very hard for me to choose between the two.

You used “value” which is a trigger word around here which will attract unsolicited advice on members telling you value shouldn’t matter, you should wear what you like even if its value goes to $0, blah blah. But to answer your question, likely panda will hold its value more.

Bingo.

O P you are gonna get various opinions as I'm sure you know. You just gotta buy what you like. I have the exact 515 you are referring to. Love it. I also had a Black 500 that has been long gone. Point being I do not ever see the 515 leaving as the 500 did. There is nothing like a PM Daytona IMO even if on OysterFlex. Plus the Chocolate 515 is stunning!!!! The mix of Chocolate, Black, Everose, etc is awesome

Would I like to have another 500? Maybe. If I did or do it would probably be white this time so theres that. Good luck. As others have said buy what you like and forget value. Values could go back up or circa 2014 etc

Do you want a watch you love or a watch that you may make some money on or lose your shirt on? Thats the question

Whatever you choose, just please don’t call the 116500 a “panda”.

I would say the OF Daytona is a nicer watch to wear than the 500LN. But I am highly biased towards casual rubber strap watches.

The OF Daytona choco is nice, but it has to be much nicer to make me prefer it over the Panda. There are some OF Daytonas that I would pick over Panda though.

Had both, highly prefer the 515 if I had to choose just 1 to wear forever.

I prefer the SS in either black or white dial. PM from Rolex is better on the bracelet for me.
