Best place to get a strap for my AquaTerra (from 2012ish)

I have a 10year old Aqua Terra. Where is the best place to get a rubber strap with deploying clasp for it? Can I get an OEM strap? Has anyone done this?

Omega Boutiques are very helpful with ordering OEM straps and deployant clasps. The staff there are often friendly and knowledgeable, and they may have suggestions.

Sounds like your watch is around the time of the transition from Caliber 2500 (first generation) to Caliber 8500 (second generation). If it's the latter then I believe the rubber strap from a current generation Aqua Terra may fit your watch. It's not an inexpensive proposition because it requires that you purchase the strap, two polished steel end-links that go between the strap and the case, and the deployant clasp. All together I'm gonna take a guess that the total cost is ~$700 to do this.

As alternatives, there were rubber straps used on the first-generation Planet Ocean that I think might be a good fit. They were constructed and shaped much like traditional leather straps with simple, straight ends at the case and stitching along the edges, and they used the OEM deployant clasp. If Omega still stocks those then I think they're worth a look.

You can go on Omega's web site and order straps and deployant clasps directly, but there aren't offerings in rubber there: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/a...straps/catalog

I enjoy wearing my Aqua Terra on OEM alligator and deployant, which I ordered directly from Omega's web offerings

Sorry for the delayed reply. Hmm so it seems like there is no way to get am OEM rubber strap through official channels for this watch? I like the leather, but I have a dedicated dress watch with a leather strap.

And yes, I believe I had the first AT model with the 8500 movement.

Perhaps my post wasn't clear. Omega Boutiques (official channel) will be glad to consult with you on rubber Omega straps that will fit your watch. If you have a watch with the 8500 movement then the rubber strap/end links/deployant clasp that all come as standard on the current model AT should fit your watch.

Contact an Omega Boutique of your choosing (there's a directory on Omega's web site), tell them which Aqua Terra you have (reference number would be best) and what you want. They'll fix you up.

I have a 2012 Aqua Terra 8500 41.5 and I was also looking at doing the same thing as I really liked the new rubber straps on the current AT. Unfortunately, as mentioned above these are really pretty expensive to buy separately but the current version should fit your 10 year old model assuming you get the correct lug width.

I bought this new 41mm just last week. I wanted the strap, but they say it’s cheaper to buy the bracelet first, so my AD did some checking.

It’s not easy to switch from bracelet to these new rubber straps, as there are two stainless steel fittings that integrate with the lugs/end links, and my AD wasn’t able to find where Omega sells them separately.

Seems Omega sells each watch as a distinct sku#, so the option today is to buy strap first, then get the bracelet later if you want. Not sure if these are the same fit on your case.

Nothing to add, but that is one terrific watch/strap combo!
