Seems like a deep sea at first glance, a new Rolex diver is rarely a bad thing. Wonder if the mindless hype will apply to this and if normies will flock to buy one for flexing when they find out this is a proper massive tool watch

Interesting….I’d love to see the dimensions on this one. Looks pretty bloated in the video, but hard to tell.

As much as I applaud Rolex for their advance research in diving watches, I’m not sure who this watch is created for other than JC and a few divers themselves. At 50mm it’s HUGE, and at 26K USD it’s ABSURD.

9.5mm thick sapphire...wow! And I thought my JC was extreme with 5.5mm.
Not for me though, I'm happy with my 126660 JC!
I'm a big guy, but I don't think even I can pull this off!

I respect the technical aspects of this watch though. Just amazing.

TBH its a bit different to what I was expecting to be released today. I was expecting a titanium Yacht Master but we have been given a hardcore pro diver. Im not sure how I feel about rolex using titanium, I am not the biggest fan f the light weight feel it gives. It would be funny if this got hyped up by non watch enthusiasts as it is 50mm.

I get the technical proposition but who is the target? That's a lot of engineering for a watch that may be worn mostly to Starbucks.

I’m elated Rolex has made a titanium watch as it’s by far my favorite metal.

I have no use for a watch this size. I guess it would make a cool desk trinket. Seriously. I don’t have the wallet for 26k desk trinkets.

I was speaking with my AD over the weekend. He mentioned that he has the occasional client who wants a bigger Rolex. He has a hard time trying to get a Rolex over their hand, let alone even closing the bracelet. Current selection just doesn’t give that and you never know what Rolex will do.

The target is Omega ?
Perhaps they did not appreciate that the
commercial watch that could go deeper was an omega...

Yes that's true for many Subs I suspect. There is a chance though that a Sub owner might be a recreational diver and then there's the market for the dive pros who could legitimately use a Sub.

This deep sea monster watch is largely confined to James Cameron and his crew diving the Mariana.

But we all know that watch collectors can talk themselves into most things.

Hard pass. It’s like a brick hamburger on the wrist and a nice novelty but not usable in a practical sense. And my god, I’m not one of these folks, but could they have crammed more text on that dial.

I think is too big for everyone.
But the spirit is to fix the highest level of technology...

(more or less like F1 cars are extreme, however
the technology used soon or later will be useful also for other cars in the future)
At least this is how I see this watch.
Mainly for collectors, (or iper professional use, but with a potential target of very few people)

What's the point. It's another big Rolex. As a guy with small wrists, the % of watches I can actually wear is decreasing. Not to mention the limited supply
