Hey all!

I have a Tudor Black Bay (red bezel) and Tudor P01. The wife has a 32mm Black Bay black dial and we have a Ranger coming in the mail this week.

Two things have always bothered me with Tudor. First is that their presentation boxes/packaging are really lacking. This was made even more apparent to me after unboxing my new Omega Seamaster a few months ago. Tudor needs to step that up.

Most frustrating is the lack of ability to purchase Tudor branded straps/bracelets online. IWC, Omega, and Breitling (direct competitors) do a great job having a replacement strap/bracelet inventory online available for purchase. With Tudor it's only available through an AD.

I want to get the Ranger's fabric strap and it's annoying to have to go to a dealer and have them order it and wait for it to get there and so on...

I was wondering if anyone had any insight if this was going to change any time soon with Tudor. Thanks!

I found the tudor box on my Royal as good as recent rolexs.

All my new Tudor boxes make Rolex boxes look ghetto.

I don't place a lot of value on boxes, personally.

They could come in cardboard boxes for all I care.

It's super annoying. I guess it forces you to go into the AD where they can try to sell something to you.

I ordered the green strap for my Ranger mid-July, not long after I bought the watch. It took around two months to arrive. My AD warned me it would take a while with the watch being a new release.

Where are you buying Omega bracelets? I have to order mine from an AD and it took a while.

Don't know about now but the original Tudor Black Bay and Heritage Ranger boxes were great, way better than Rolex. They came with 'free' fabric straps, too.

When the Ranger comes I will be interested to see if it comes in this box... I got my BB March 2021 and the wife's BB and my P01 earlier this year (May) all from the same AD and they came in a box that just looks black with a lot of felt-ish material on the inside. It didn't have that red trim or the inner pocket on the top lid.

You're right and I'll correct myself. The bracelet you have to get through an AD. Omega has nato and leather straps online.

"Free" is correct. Don't quite understand why Tudor stopped this practice. Maybe not wanting end users doing watch tech?

OP, I've no problem waiting a bit for a strap from an AD. Go sear on ebay if you can't wait.

I think they still include free rubber straps for the Pelagos if you buy the steel version. The fabric straps are being sold by ADs for about $170 total. With all the margins/profit built in to that price, I doubt it would cost Tudor anything to include them with steel watches.

I agree. You should be able to buy any bracelets or straps online. No reason to have to trudge over to an AD for this.

I wonder how many people go to an AD to order a $170 Tudor strap and end up buying a $4,500 watch.

Yes I had one with my black bay. They were high gloss boxes and felt premium. They stopped doing it a while ago.

Think they stopped in 2018 and moved to the matte black boxes. When I got my GMT in 2018 they hadn't received the new boxes yet so I got the glossy nicer box. Guess I technically don't have an original full set.

I don’t think the strap situation will change they want you to visit the AD for strap changes. Rolex/Tudor do not think we are capable of changing straps ourselves.

I was told by the AD that I can’t put on an aftermarket strap. Apparently it would void the warranty. So they forced me to buy an OEM Tudor strap. I was hoping to put the RubberB. I didn’t want to spend all that money on the Bergen tool. I haven’t found any tool that fits the Tudor/Rolex lugs.

Honestly I completely understand Rolex acting the way they do... but that really shouldn't extend to Tudor. They want Tudor to be the more everyman/woman's luxury watch... so make it more accessible. Breitling is doing a great job with their image. Their watches are way better than the used to be. Their boutiques are being re-designed and modernized and are extremely attractive... It's a direct competitor to Tudor.

Straps are a lot of enjoyment to most watch geeks. Tudor needs to relax and embrace that. Aren’t they are supposed to be the “fun” little brother of Rolex?
