Rolex Daytona 116519 vs Rolex meteorite Pepsi

I've got a 116519 in my collection that I'm currently thinking of letting go and I think in its absence I'd grab a Meteorite Pepsi instead.

Thoughts? Would you guys do the swap or would you stick with the 116519?

Meteorite Pepsi trumps everything in the Daytona lineup except for, maybe, possibly, the Platona.

Its more exclusive and is absolutely gorgeous on the wrist.

Oysterflex kills it. The Daytona dial is a bit small and busy for a meteorite to really show its specialness. The DD and GMT are the best models ( IMO ) for this dial.

I think the best of all would be WG Daytona meteorite dial with full bracelet.

WG Daytona meteorite dial with full bracelet > WG Pepsi meteorite dial > WG OF Daytona (regular dial).

First, your collection is insane. Well done.

Second, I think this trades makes great sense, especially considering you have the Platona already. I can’t imagine wearing the 519 much if I had a Platona. And I love (and own) the 519,

Trade approved!

I like it flat out as long as I can ! Amazing fun little car! A white dial daytona matches perfectly by the way.

I appreciate all the perspectives on this thread. Just today I was debating a white gold sun (I have a 116500 white, 166519 yg meteorite of, a ss Pepsi and two pateks I can never remember the numbers to 5146g and 5905p maybe). This pushed me into the camp of waiting it out for the wg gmt I really want or the wg Daytona. Thanks everyone! First time on in a long time so it shows the value of this community.

I have both (or doggone close with respect to the Daytona on Oysterflex (sundust/rose gold)). This really isn't even a rational debate. Other than the Platona, the GMT Meteorite is the baller #1. Do you hear me talking, John Mayer Daytona folks? Not debatable. Flame away.

Either meteorite would be amazing! I think I like the Daytona meteorite 116519 a little better because the black subdials break it up nicely.

Both just make me drool …

I agree.

I actually like the YG green dial daytona better than the Platona.

But all three are ultimate heavy hitters but given the choice I would do the GMT every time.
