OEM Spring Bars

Hello,

Anybody have a recommendation for a seller to purchase some 19mm spring bars for my 124270 Explorer?

I’m struggling to find a trusted vendor online and based in the UK.

Thanks in advance, Tim

any servicing dealer should carry them.

Cousins UK is a watch parts vendor in the UK but they won't be OEM. Rolex does not have an on-line parts supplier to the General Public.

Spring bars are generally available at any Dealer

A visit to the AD for the exact part would be my recommendation.

While it is possible to get perfectly adequate springbars aftermarket, it is also quite possible to get spring bars that do not provide optimal fit and security.

I am very much concerned with relying on such a small aftermarket product that can have such a big impact.

Spring bars might be a bit shorter / skinnier / without shoulders where needed and vice versa / the ends may be too short or too long as well. Or they just may be made very cheaply and poorly that they come apart.
The ending is similar, you drop or lose your watch.

Find the correct springbars if at all possible.

To avoid this issue altogether have a look at the Tudor fxd.

It guess it depends where you are based in the UK but if your near London RSC St James will replace/fit them for free.

Thanks All,

I share your concerns regarding aftermarket.

I’m been wearing my Explorer mostly on a NATO that is quite thick. It has bent the bars very slightly so they are now difficult to operate when putting the bracelet back on.

Just looking the get probably 4x spring bars and I. An do the rest.

I’m near Chester but in London most weeks. The RSC St James you mention, can you just walk in?

Thanks,

Tim

I don’t know if they make them in 19mm but if there’s a Seiko repairer you can’t go wrong with Seiko diver or grand Seiko spring bars. Many here have chimed they’re better than Rolex oem.

Bas our TechExpert would know best however.

If you’re interested:

Due to the new design of the bars being close to the case I have to remove the spring bars to take the NATOs off.

Only noticed when using tweezer tool to put bracket back on (it was a pain in the arse), they would keep sticking. I had to take them out and apply pressure to release.

I want a mint pair of OEM spring bars for when I want to wear the bracelet (for ease of putting back on) and a spare pair in case the ‘bend’ gets worse.

Invested in a couple of thinner NATOs that seem to work better:

In my experience you can just walk into Rolex St James’s but i reckon they will ‘replace’ rather than ‘replenish’ your stock. I went in with bracelet screw issues having somewhat botched resizing a bracelet and they changed the offending ones while I waited, but it’s not like they left me with the flawed ones or provided me with extras. I may be wrong but i think if you go in with it saying the spring bars have been bent because of you wearing it on a NATO you’ll be fortunate if they replace and refit but they’re unlikely to give you others on top and certainly the ‘i’ll do it myself’ tack won’t work in there. It’s no shop. More a very deluxe garage!

Thanks Chewy, would be good to get some advice from Bas.

Love the quality Seiko are producing atm. Have my eye on one of these:

I always use shoulderless spring bars with a one piece strap so the pressure from the strap doesn't shift to the left or right, inadvertently dislodging one of the spring bars. It's a commitment as you have to snip the spring bars in half upon removal.
