Looking for PICs/thoughts Explorer I on one and two piece straps?
I recently acquired a 124270 36mm Explorer I. There have been some thoughts that you can not run anything on the watch except the factory bracelet. Either the pins are too close to the case or the cut outs in the case look awful. If anyone has any pics of either a one piece nato or a two piece canvas style strap, that would be great. Any additional thoughts are always welcome. Thanks.

You can use a strap but I believe the lug width is smaller than previous generations. You might also want to consider a curved spring bar.

I really don't like the trend of shorter nub lugs where you need to use curved springbars. I hope the new explorer is not like that.

I think that'll continue until people (men in particular) aren't scared off by the prospect of smaller diameter watches. The stubbier lugs allow a "larger diameter" watch to be worn and not hang over the wrist. However, if people no longer said "nothing less than 40" that constraint would evaporate.
