Sydney trip
Spent the weekend in Sydney. A few photos taken. I'm still fishing out the good ones from the 24GB I churned. One thing for sure is that at nearly every vantage point there is another one or two photographers taking the same shot
Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge from Lady Macquarie's Chair(?) Harbour Bridge from the Observatory. Queen Victoria Building Circular Quay Opera House Harbour Bridge More to come later... |

Very nice photos? I miss Sydney. My kids love crossing that bridge from the top of the arch. Did you go LegoLand? For 3 hours I was a kid again.
Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks guys for the nice comments!
It was our 20th anniv weekend so we just slipped into town for a couple of nights, didn't go far, only within the 10 blocks or so of Sydney CBD Most of my night shots - I used lowest ISO, smallest aperture e.g. F/16 to F/22, and cranked up the exposure to 25 or 30 seconds, let it underexpose by 0.7-1.0 fstop (on my Nikon D90 if the meter says 0, it's already too bright for night shots). A stable tripod is essential, I usually hang my backpack onto the tripod to add more weight. The lenses are Nikon 14-24 F/2.8, Sigma 24-70 F/2.8, Nikon 55-200 F/4-5.6 VR and a Nikon 28 F/2.8 prime. JJ I'll probably be doing a business trip to Auckland within the next 4-6 weeks so cya there :) More photos: Friday night we went to Golden Century seafood restaurant in Chinatown. Sat night we went for degustation at Observatory Hotel's Galileo restaurant. Dinner was excellent, the room was lovely decorated like a salon. Great value for money too! Amuse Bouche - mushroom soup inside... Kingfish Confit with avocado, tomato served with soy and wasabi dressing Homard Rivioli served with quail egg, sauteed spinach and sauce civet Catch of the day Roasted Lamb rack with rosemary crust, olive tapenade, bacon and sauteed cabbage Dessert - Tiramisu like cake, ice cream and berry fruits Me and my wife City, Opera House and Bridge More Harbour Bridge Martin Place Apple Store Outside Intercontinental hotel |
