Vintage Date, any thoughts?
I found this vintage Rolex Date, I talked to the owner, and he removed the band to get the reference #, 1550, and said the serial was filed off. Willing to take $650 shipped. Can anyone take a look at the photos and give me a clue if it is legit?

I haven't seen any fake 1550 Date watches. It is not a solid gold watch, but has gold plate.
The band on the one you've pictured is not a Rolex band, but some type of aftermarket band. From what I can see of the dial and case, it appears that it has been around for a while.

The owner stated the band was not original, just the watch itself, glad to hear that about not seeing any fakes out there on the 1550 case.
