Probably a dealer/flipper? The moment the market took a downturn he sort of disappeared.

I'm a fan. Don't know what happened to him. His last YouTube was 9 months ago.

He isn't a flipper at all. I actually really like him. Seems to like watches for the sake of liking watches. For example when he wanted to get rid of his AP RO he sold it for the price he bought it, not market price. Have heard a few stories like that.
I have heard a few rumours about his identity, a few people have told me he is a Jordanian Royal Family member.

He usually would release a video when he makes a new acquisition and whatnot. He was never the kind of guy to release a video on a specific schedule

I was wondering the same thing, what happened to him? He did a great job of explaining why he curated his collection with particular watches. But all of the sudden he dropped off. Great content and production, hope he returns.

Definitely not a flipper, the guy had royalty money for sure. He's channel is one of the rare unbias ones and with no agenda but I'm it for the passion of collecting.

He's channel is what got me hooked again into the hobby in 2018. Hope he comes back, love his content unlike all these garage grey dealer channels now.

he did seem passionate about his collecting but his collection to me is very uninspired. it's every single watch you'd see on instagram from 2019-2022. 2 steel daytonas, pepsi, hulk, blue skydweller, aquanaut, 5712, AP openworked, AP 15202. no PM watches, no color, there are other brands but it's what you'd expect from them like a speedmaster, reverso, santos, etc. again nothing against him but maybe i'm the only one who feels weird when i see praise for such a collection. anyone with money can get this same collection with zero imagination or knowledge of watches lol

I do agree with you, he did have most of the more popular watches from the big brands. But when your collection is that big your going to have those pieces, he does have a Grand Seiko, Panerai and Planet Ocean. So there is some variety in there. I don't buy the whole having only hype pieces means you have no imagination, if you love those pieces then be it. You shouldn't buy other brands or watches just for "Variety", buy what you love and will wear. I bought a off brand for some "Variety" in my collection and found the watch got little to no wrist time and ended up selling it after a year.

There is no perfect collection, just preference in your collecting strategy.

you don't need to go with other brands to have imagination. i personally have no interest in buying omegas, grand seikos, jlc, etc. i only like rolex, ap and patek and i don't think there's anything wrong with that but when your collection just has every single steel model in rolex's catalog minus a datejust, and no PM models, it looks a bit like you just wanna hoard the models everyone else wants. if you look through his videos, at some point in 2020 he started going a bit off his normal path, up until then it was the usual suspects that waitlists are full of

imo his collection seems to have been a very safe one and clearly focused around parking money or watching it appreciate and coincidentally lines up with him not posting anymore once the market crashed

He’s middle eastern and most middle easterners are muslim. Practicing muslim men do not wear precious metal, platinum metal is an exception

Agreed. I call it the greatest hits collection. I also wanted my favorite watch from each brand i love, minus the sub. Sub doesn’t count because it’s the one that sort of fits the daily bill. So it’s Daytona, speedmaster, calatrava, RO, the overseas Chrono (preferably Everest), and a Tudor BB58.

I know guys that love Rolex and it’s a few stainless, then typically a few years in between and something in PM. Buying every stainless model seems odd to me as well. But if that’s what they are into, great. Their is a difference between collecting, and buying. I think we see a lot of buying with new collectors.

I have never heard of that.

Question, how come virtually every watch that was given by sheik was made from gold? And why are there so many gold watches with farsi numerals?

A lot of Muslims don't seem to care about wearing gold which I do believe is expressly forbidden by the Quran. It's probably similar to how many Muslims drink booze or Hindus eating beef. They're just not very devout or doctrinaire about it.

He mentions in a few videos that he doesn't like gold pieces because of the attention they bring and specially when he is in London most of the time.

On one of his last videos he did mention he was waiting for an exact configuration on a platinum Day Date from the AD.

Buying precious metal always depends on your age and taste. I never wanted and actually hated gold pieces when I first started collecting in my 20s and 30s. Now that I'm in my 40s I've definitely warmed up to them and will add one to my collection eventually.

I liked his videos. Sure he did one on a 321 before they became a thing!

Didn’t know devout Muslim men don’t wear gold. You learn something everyday.

I enjoyed his content and like others said, his production quality was solid and he appeared to be a genuine connoisseur or fine watches rather than a flipper, etc. However, he did disappear around the same time the market started to crash so that could mean that his interests were purely financial.

Either way, I hope he’s well and that he returns soon!

I'd wager that once Londons lockdowns eased he had less time to devote to content creation

The guys seemed to have plenty of money and people like that are usually short on time (under normal circumstances)
