Datejust 41 Wimbledon vs TT daytona Black dial
Hi guys,
First post on here. So I currently have the rolex batman and I'm looking for a TT watch to add to my collection. My Ad told me that he could get me the TT datejust 41 Wimbledon or TT daytona Black Dial. One of the concerns I have had about the daytona is that the gold bezel is a scratch magnet... Thanks for your input. |

I'm not much of a Daytona fan, but in this instance I'd choose the Daytona a million times over.
Two reasons why - firstly I find the Wimbledon dial to be a truly hideous looking thing! And secondly, the DJ41 runs the 3235 (which can be problematic if you get a bad one) while the Daytona runs the universally fantastic 4130. It's an absolute no brainer IMO.

The more obvious factor in deciding for me, is whether I’d want a chronograph vs, a date time complication.
Wear and tear will happen to both watches regardless. YMMV |

Daytona in that comparison, however there are other nice TT dj that might be better. I have the rose gold TT with chocolate dial and it’s pretty nice!

TT Wimbledon fluted on jubilee is beautiful in my opinion. Not a fan of the Daytona in this combo. I would save the Daytona request for a different combo!

I think the TT black dial Daytona is one of the sexiest watches in the catalogue. Good luck!

DJ, fluted bezel and jubilee for me. Easier to conceal scratches, A date and I can read the dial. I like chronographs as well, But no love for the Daytona. I like a chrono as a instrument, clean legible dial that I can clearly see. And a date!
Always wondered that if you were designing a chronograph complication, why not at least add a date function? Or day function, moon phase, split seconds or any number of useful things.

Daytona all the way. I have a SS DJ41 and really enjoy it, but the TT Wimbledon is just a little too much going on for me.

Daytona just because of the hype (: but I agree with some posters there are nicer TT DJ41 options than the Wimbledon dial which I find too busy especially as there is already a lot going on with the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet (assuming that’s one as it’s the most classic).

Welcome to the forum and one of the most unequal comparisons to make. Of course a TT Daytona is what you get if your AD can truly get you one.

I’d go with the Wimbledon if it also has a fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet. Otherwise I’d get the Daytona.

Congratulations, you found the only Daytona I wouldn’t vote for.
The Daytona is my favorite Rolex model but I do not care for the TT black dial. And I happen to be a big fan of the Wimbledon dial. Best DJ dial available. The DJ will also make a nice change-up from your other Rolex sports model. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
