Omega Speedmaster Reduced 3510.50 Service?

I have a Speedmaster Reduced 3510.50 that I need servicing. After doing some research apparently, a pain to work on does anyone have an insight into why?

I believe it's essentially a movement on top of a movement on the reduced. At the OB, I was told to avoid them due to the services costs being roughly 1/3 of the cost of the watch

Okay, thank you so much for the response.

I actually just dropped off my Speedy MK40 for servicing directly at the Swatch Group servicing center this morning. Luckily there is one in Seoul that isn't too far from where I live.
I believe that there is a base price for Chrono and non chronos. Mine came to be just under $900 (based on current KRW to USD exchange rate). I briefly glanced at the price list and non chronos were around $600 I think? And they charge slightly more for precious medals.
For me, it was worth it...I bought mine a couple of months ago when I was back in the US. It runs fine but I wanted to service it for my peace of mind and worry free wearing for years to come.

Also, I'm sure you can find an independent watch maker to service it for a lot less.

I was quoted $750 by a local independent watch maker.

One third the cost of the watch?!?! For a service? That can’t be right.

Wow, I just checked some preowned prices, and $750 is an awfully high % of those prices

Yeah it’s an expensive one to service. That Dubois-Depraz chrono module on top of the movement is notorious for being a pain in the ass to work on.
