Friends AD

My friend had a good AD relationship and got a call for a Batman. He doesn’t want it. Can I purchase it through him ? What’s the drawback ?

You already asked this question. Buy the batman and buy your friend a vacation.

The drawback is that you didn’t buy extra day dates and datejusts to be offered a Rolex GMT BLNR

Yeah why shouldn't you? If he's willing to go and buy it and sell it to you, not only will it probably further strengthen his relationship with the AD, because spending money.

As long as you don't screw over your friend and flip it the next day, I can't really think of any drawbacks.

No drawbacks, just whether the AD will let you have it rather than your friend. If they will then result all round!

Welcome to the forum. If it’s a good friend and they trust you ask them to buy it and you pay them back. If neither of you want to do that. The AD may want to offer it to another client rather than you. Or if the relationship is good, the AD may take a referral from your friend and sell to you. Depends on the AD and how much spend your friend has.

But the easiest way is to have your friend buy it for you.

A different question from your earlier inquiry. Why not let him buy it and then you buy it from him. His only concern might be that he loses in place in line for another watch he does want.

How is this even a question? Either buy it from your friend or have your friend introduce you to facilitate YOUR purchase of the watch. This isn't rocket surgery.

Friends AD

I have asked my SA if I can offer my allocation to a friend and he said no. Because he has thousands of customers behind me to entertain.

So it depends on the SA, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. You might as well start your own relationship if they allow you. I am sure the SA does NOT want to entertain flippers (maybe 90% of new customers).

My AD does not allow me to pass and buy for a friend simply because they have other established clients to offer the watch to. This may not be the case for your friend tho.

The only answer that matters will be from your friend.
