No New Rolex in Vegas

Just returned from 5 days in Las Vegas. I went to every Rolex AD along the Strip, and none of them had any new Rolexes to buy. Instead, they had only presentation watches on display. They put me on their buy lists, and if my new watch comes in they will call me to pick it up in person within 7days. No phone purchases and no shipping. A couple of pre-owned Rolexes were offered, but I didn't pursue these. How can these Vegas ADs stay in business without a $teady $tream of $ales?

This is true how it works out there.. All the AD’s in the tourist areas DO INDEED sell just like they told you.. I’ll be flying in to buy a piece from the Rolex store inside of the Bellagio.. My salesperson there was awesome and she’s selling another 31 DJ for my wife that she’s been wanting, and a certain daydate40 for me

They stay in business because every single watch that they have coming in is sold before its sold - they couldn’t be doing any better

They have a steady stream of sales.

That is why there are no watches for you to buy

Every Rolex AD in every city are selling watches every single day. The average rent is approx. $400.00/sq. ft. in LV and that doesn't even include insurance and any overhead (salaries, security, etc...). If they are not selling watchES every single day, they'd be out of business in 2 months. Just b/c they are not selling to you doesn't mean they are not selling to others.

They don't need or want new customers, they sell new pieces to their local customers who they have long lasting relationships with.

Last thing they'll do is call an out of towner when they could call up their good customer John or Bill

I was just there for several days. Offered several watches I did not want. Maybe they don’t want new clients?

They are making more money than ever. Rolex deliveries are up from what I hear from ADs and everything is pre-sold five times over. Wow the huge thrill it would be to be a Rolex dealer at the moment with the steady cash flow.

I'm headed to Vegas this evening. The horology side of me is actually pretty stoked. Not because of a potential Rolex purchase, but because I can finally go and try on models from JLC, IWC, GO, and Chopard. I don't think I could ever purchase a watch by picture only and I just have the AD's like many of you do in bigger cities.

Now if I happen to find AK.... I'm all in.

"New watches available to buy" is not how Vegas works for 99% of the watches.

All watches in the back have been reserved for the next 2-10 years, hence you will not find them any time soon unless Rolex watches depreciated 50% in value where no one wants them.

Since you've been a member since 2013, odds are you know why there are none for sale.

So, what's really bugging you? Have you considered other brands that are available? Would you walk into a Ferrari dealer in Las Vegas and expect to walk out with their latest limited edition?

I think it’s more like that’s not how it works for 99% of the populace. I was given the same line when I was looking for my James Cameron last year (when the grey prices were pushing $20k for a BNIB) but I was just nice and polite and tried to find common ground with the SA’s I spoke with. Cost me a few hours of small talk at a few different AD’s but ended up being called back and offered one before my trip was over. Someone walking in cold with no prior relationship that just says “I want to buy a new Rolex” is always going be told no, or maybe shown a ladies DJ lol.

I'll be going to Vegas in August it looks like and I don't expect to be sold a Rolex, though I never mind looking at display models. I'm going for the other brands that I can't see at home.

I've got a great AD here that will always get my business first.

This is false. I know several people who have gotten a call from Rolex in Vegas and flew in to collect the watch.

I've bought a dozen or so in Vegas. Keep in touch and when they call make good on the deal. I've been working with the same one for 4 years now and time on target helps. I can assure you they have watches to sell. Keep at it.

There are so many of these "No stock at the AD, how do they stay in business" threads...

How can people be so daft?

There's nothing on display because currently they have a buyer for EVERY SINGLE WATCH before they make it to the case.

That's why people wait weeks, months or years for their watches; there is a list of people waiting for the same watch.

Easy. Check out the ranking of the USA education system, especially the critical K to 12th-grade levels. At some places within the USA, the educational system is brutally failing. It's getting worse, so, sadly, we'll see more posts like this in the future.

Just the way of the world I guess.

No New Rolex in Vegas

True story. There's more than 25 hot pieces in the back. Many not sold but they know who they want to buy them. The SAs each have their own list and they jockey for permission to call their client.
