Maybe Rolex discontinued a lot of good models because they’re in the secondary market

Maybe Rolex discontinued their best Daytona’s and released a new line inferior to the previous because they are now dealing in their own secondary market.

I which objective ways are the new releases inferior to their predecessors?

Yes I only see improvements personally. Every change on the Daytona is an improvement IMO. If I was an old SS Daytona owner I’d be pretty disappointed today.

Disagree. I for one am not disappointed at all.
I have both the black and white dial ceramic daytonas, plus two 116520's. The all have their own charm. :)

I’m sure a lot will feel the same as you.

Personally speaking I feel the new changes have fixed a lot of what I always disliked about the Daytona. And if it’s now also a TRUE 40mm I’ll be very interested.

As I said on another thread, my only concern will be if they’ve imported the 32xx amplitude issues into the 4131 movement. Time will tell on that one.

Disagree. The outgoing ref 116500LN definitely has its own charms just like the previous 116520. While I do like the new bezel, a hit to that bezel will result in a ding. Not sure what that would look like since the ceramic is like an insert. Also, it is the case on the 116500LN will be the last of it's kind.
