My New Rolex!

In 2016, I purchased my first Rolex, a 42mm Polar Explorer 2 that I had wanted since it came out. I was in college at that time I first saw it, and the price was so astronomical back then. That watch was truly my grail. Over the years, I grew my collection and got to try many other brands.

Fast forward to March 2023. I picked up my Rolex and realized that I had not touched it since before daylight savings time. I knew that it was finally time to move on to something else, as I was no longer enjoying it the way I used to. I saw the secondary market cooling off post-COVID boom so decided it was a good time to make the switch.

I began looking seriously at sky-dwellers as their prices became more reasonable. I went to the AD to try it on to be sure I was comfortable with the size and heft. I found a beautiful freshly serviced example online and several days later it arrived at my home. I chose to stick with a white dial, both as an homage to my original Rolex and because I love the look.

What an incredibly special watch. The polished case, the fluted bezel, the eggshell dial color, the complications. I am thrilled to own it and wanted to share a couple photos after being away from this forum for a while!
