Shhh- (don't tell anyone that there's a 1908).

The only one I like is the gold and white. Pretty dressy however.

I really like it. I'm not a buyer, but if I ever wanted a dress watch I'd consider it.

Reminds me of the 1940s 1950s Rolex watch styles.

It's a beauty.
white gold my favourite.
yes, its competitor is calatrava 6119
same dimensions, same complication, but not automatic.
calatrava costs 10k more (roughly 32 vs 22)
But I think i would prefer this 1908
less formal with the 3/6/9

I'm not looking for a dress watch right now, but if I will, I'll think about it

I agree it's a perfectly nice dress watch, but I'm not sure why the Cellini range is generally disliked, but this isn't. There's an awful lot of similarity....

I like it but why is it just as expensive as a Cellini without the moon phase complication? Might as well keep the Cellini.

Probably the name and typeface. I really like this one too and wasn't drawn to the cellinis

I’m loving the dial and handset. I just wish it was a bit smaller (36-37 mm) and manual wind with display back would have been very cool! Maybe in the next few years this will become a reality….

I’ve taken to daily wearing my Patek 5227r and it’s been an eye opening experience. I think this may provide the same experience in perhaps a more “rugged” brand.

In the new page,
do NOT press configure your rolex, but swipe to the right: datejust, submariner, ... the last one is 1908. Click, in the bottom of the page you'll see "discover this model" and the price comes out.
In Italy is 22.350 or 23.450 for yellow/white gold, respectively

This one also had the most interesting technical update: First larger movement, with longer (well, 66hr) PR and Syloxi hairspring. Sign of things to come?

I'm interested to know more about finishing techniques. Exhibition case back, Côtes de Genève, Anglage, Perlage, though all done mechanically? Any hand finishing?

I am seriously considering this as I have been in the market for a YG dress watch. I like the fact they went with the silicon hairspring for this movement.

1. I like it a lot.
2. I’ve been pleading for a Yellow Gold Cellini for years … I got one under a new name.
3. Love (have always loved) the double bezel … smooth and fluted.
4. LOVE the hands … soo important on a dress watch.
5. Like a lot the seconds subdial … gives the watch a little spark.
6. Love the lettering / limited lettering on the dial.
7. Love the see through case back.
8. Love the outer / seen part of the clasp.
9. Love the function of the folding clasp.
10. Love that the liner of the strap is Rolex Green.

I’m curious to find out how “thick” it is.

It appears to me that the strap is not padded … indicating to me that the watch is thin (8-9mm)… otherwise they would use a padded strap for balance.

I agree with the comments above that this is remindful of the PP 6119, and that it is slightly less dressy with the three numerals.

The watch is just beautiful … I cannot think of a single critique … Rolex, you nailed it, and thank you for offering a gentlemen’s watch in Yellow Gold.

Though I was a big fan of the most recent, now discontinued, Cellini models, I think this 1908 is a much improved watch.

I hate to say “dress watch”, because that label seems to limit the wearer … I wear my “dress watches” all the time … they look great (and casual) wearing every day, every where, with every wardrobe.

11. I have already reached out to my AD, and asked to be put on the list for this watch.

I like the way, "Superlative chronometer," is curved around the sub-dial.

Congrats Big Tex Rolex, you are the first!
I'm also very impressed by this watch, and I was considering whether to phone or not...
My only concern is that: I would love white gold/white dial, but then there could be problems of legibility...

Anyway... if you phoned, good choice!
