Anyone Want to Guess Where New Panda Daytona 126500 Will Trade?

I was about to buy a panda for my 40th birthday in May, and wrote a thread about it.

Now this happened. Now I feel inclined to get the model from my 40th year.

Only have about 20k in spend history from my AD so no luck coming there.

Anyone have a thought on where it may trade? How screwed am I?

You would pay $40k for a $15k watch?

Just a guess here, but I suspect the first ones to hit the resale market will be way North of the $50's.

I will be shocked if it's not around $35k after a month of two following release. It's essentially the same watch as the prior version.

I'm going to say $45k - $55k, but on Chrono24 it'll be listed as $60k - $80k. Give it a year and it'll drop back down to low $40s.

X2 here

I'm guessing $59K

The 126506-001 will be the show stopper for grey pricing. I'm guessing $199k
It's not like the old days when you could get them for 25% off from an AD, and that went on for years. Only the top clients will even be offered one, and those guys wont be flipping them. And the 116506 pricing will be right up there too

These Daytona price prediction threads are usually all over the place and notoriously wrong when looking back back. I was adamant with my early projection and held off waiting for the current Ceramic white SS Daytona when it was $25k thinking it would come down to $18k. I was so wrong it wasn't even comical and cost me significantly more waiting.

IMO, it's a major improvement over the 116500. Besides an updated movement, the aesthetics have improved considerably by adding the outer bezel ring like all the other Chronographs on the market and like the Daytonas of the '60's with the thinner insert. The old bezel was too wide and had no definitive outer edge - it looked odd! The new case which will probably be a true 40mm will allow it to sit well against other Professional Models in size. The new icon continues....

kind of an obnoxious question.

it isn't a $15k watch if it's not purchasable for $15k.

Well it's true Rolex watches today have become little more than £€$ objects things to speculate how much they would cost if not bought from AD..Many years ago they were bought to wear and enjoy wearing in good health hopefully for many years to come

It will start mid to high 40's then drop down to mid 30's. I'll ask my AD next time I'm in the store then wait and see. Wasn't as big of a fan of the 116500 as the 116520 and I like this current iteration.

What do you like more on the 126500 vs the 116500?

Weird, I think that ring ruins the effect of the ceramic bezel.

The overlay pic I saw showed them about same size.

It was an honest question. I'm sorry you are taking it however you are taking it. That's on you.

I have no issue paying over retail. I've done it. Just like $3k, though, not over double. I just personally can't think of a watch on earth that I'd pay that much over retail for. If I can't get it... I can't get it and move on.

Many years ago they were “bought” you say? Ok so I want to “buy” the new 126500.

Let’s just go over the check list with you, is it ok that I want to buy it? Not sure if that notion will offend you.

Oh it’s ok that I want to buy it? Unfortunately, 2 of my ADs lost their partnerships with rolex, another AD rep just quit and another died a few years ago. So I guess I’ll have to buy from the gray market. Is that ok with you? I swear I just want to buy it and enjoy it in good health. Nothing more.

So it’s a really strange question I know, but how much will it cost? I’m
Sorry, I know it’s offensive to you to ask.
