TT Blue Submariner + Blue Leather Strap

Well, after trying a blue NATO strap on my TT Blue Sub, I thought I would stir things up a little more

The blue dial that stands out so beautifully on the 16613 means that not everything will be a nice match with this watch. My aim was to dress it up a little as an alternative to the bi-metal Oyster bracelet. My only wish was that the buckle had been gold but the strap only came with an SS buckle and in any case, the older Oyster bracelets had a non-polished SS clasp so I think there is a little precedence there.

I've always thought that the 16613 straddles the territory between tool watch and jewellery and it's the latter aspect that I wanted to bring out a little. The gold and blue really make the 16613 stand out and I think this strap is a good match for the blue in the dial.

Again, this might be too 'out there' for some but I do like the look and I like that my favourite watch can take on a few different looks. I hope you'll like it too

Next up, the clear caseback

I think it looks very nice, but then again I'm not supersticious to blue like some.

I love it. Plus you can always change back. But I like a strap in a matching color.

That alligator strap looks way to dressy for a Sub imho. But if you like it, that's all the matters - it's your money.

Thanks, Dan. Yes, I would never make any non-reversible changes.

Hmmm, maybe but I've had it on for a few days now and still feel it looks fine for the 16613. I wouldn't do this for a 16610 or any other SS Sub, though.

Hey now, I like the look of the combination. Where is the best place to get a strap like the one you've shown? Thanks for posting.

I think its a nic look... it would have been a serious consideration for me if rolex offered it with a leather strap - i love the TT bluesy, but at 21, I am often in the kinds of places (clubs, inner city/non office areas etc) where i am likely to draw attention with all that gold (as sad a state of affairs as it is today)

Great

Blue dial, blue strap. Looks good!

But for me, I'm a sucker for curved end straps and for that reason went with the Hirsch Leonardo line for my electric blue Omega:

Don't know if i'd actually do it to my Bluesy, tho if I bought the band and knew it was around, I might give it a try at some point. Where did you find the band?

Enjoy!

Yeah, I know what you mean but it's nice for a change. I liked my metal bracelet as well - once I got the fit right, I'd almost forget the watch was on. I actually remember getting ready for work once and looking all over the place for my watch - at the sink, next to the bed, under the pillows, under the bed ............ it was on my wrist the whole time

Thanks, everyone, for the very nice comments - I got the bracelet from a site Watchworx (http://www.watchworx.co.uk/pages/lwb/elite.html). The strap is shown at http://www.watchworx.co.uk/pages/lwb...op/BigBlue.htm

Fr John, love the look of those curved end straps!

Tools, thanks for the er, ehm, ..... comments Seriously, though, your recent article inspired me to take the plunge - I'll be ordering a clear caseback later this week.

The journey continues

I think it looks great, although you need to find a gold buckle & tang.

I think the Bluesy would look fantastic on a honey colored hornback crock strap.

Agreed. Do you know if the buckle and tang can be retrofitted? Have you got an image of a honey colored hornback crock strap?
