Explorer 1 36mm availability, help with ADs in Miami/Orlando

Hello everybody,

I am not from US but I will be traveling to Miami and Orlando in August this year, would like to know if by a miracle I have any chance getting an Explorer 1 36mm in an AD, thats my dream watch and will be the first Rolex.

Tried to send messages to some ADs but got just a few replies, all automatic answers saying to visit the stores, is it possible to be in line for a steel model like this with no other purchase? Without going to the store?

If anyone is from this area and have a good sales assistant please PM contact, I would be very thankful, I know this will be hard but just want to try my dream.

Best,

JC.

Why worry about the ADs? This watch is not that far from MSRP on the gray market. You can get it tomorrow, hassle free, worry free, and then move on with your life. It’s just a watch.

As I checked its like 3k USD more grey, for a 7k watch, its like 40% more, dont make sense for me to pay over retail for a entry level Rolex, thats why I want to try to get it from an AD, and its not a super hot model or anything like it, entry 36mm steel, just it.

Just check David, almost 12k: https://davidsw.com/shop/watch/rolex...0-explorer-29/

ADs tend to prefer to deal with local customers. No harm in dropping by but slim chances you will walk out with an Explorer.

I know, thats why I am trying to be in contact months before I arrive, and I am not even a US resident. If anyone can introduce me to a sales assistant there, with no introduction I think I have no chance getting it, but had to try.

Reaching out ahead of time won't help anything as far as they are concerned you are still an anonymous stranger.
Perhaps you should pursue the ADs in your own country.

Look elsewhere. Depending on where you live, it's more like a $1K premium or roughly 10-15% over MSRP. Also, don't forget to include tax from your AD.

I dont live in the US, checked chrono24 and David that I know from where that is a trusted seller and the prices is like 9-10k, dont feel good in paying like 40% more then retail for a entry Rolex.

Safe travels. Visit any AD you are able to.
Best of luck with both.

Sorry, you have no chance. Explorer 36 is pretty popular, even with some history you have to wait 6-12 months. Maybe after the release of Explorer 40 the demand will start to decrease.

Have no problem waitings, the point is how to be placed in the wait line without any previous purchase or visit to the AD.

You have to visit the AD and most probably you have to be a local customer. Most of the ADs nowadays don't deal with people from foreign countries. I'd recommend to visit your local AD and wait.

My advice is to look around the classified section on this forum. This watches started at 11k on the gray market, but now can be had for 9k (maybe less if you are willing to wait more)

As a non-local walk-in, I’d say a 124273 would be more realistic.

Two months ago I was a "non-local walk in" and the AD's SA offered to sell me a 124273. I wore it in the store for about 5 minutes and thought about it, but ultimately decided it had a bit too much bling for me. The yellow gold-steel Oyster bracelet I liked very much and believe that if the bezel, markers, and hands had been steel I probably would have bought the watch.

Gold is not for me, sadly.
