Hey... just because the Deep Sea looks normal on my wrist doesn't necessarily mean I spend a lot of time at buffets.

I got kicked out once for playing Battleship quite loudly during a 4 hour stay.

Yes - in high school. Me and my friends used to go to the same Chinese buffet all the time and compete in eating the most.

Eventually one day the owner came up to our table and told us he was losing money on us and would prefer if we took our business elsewhere.

I think Las Vegas is a buffet with a desert built around it.

No. No. I’m good. I’m just really looking forward to some Brazilian BBQ meets Chinese buffet and I’m starving myself for a week before the event.

For context this was a dare by a charity and I’m proving them I can live without food for a week. Although I’ll have all the top shelf booze and my Mayo Clinic doctors keeping an eye on me I want to prove a point to my lazy labor who said I me only me should donate $500 to a food bank. Compound that having over 120k people asking for a raise is an annoyance and since I can’t fire all of them I’m going to show them how to save $37k or a week of food.

OK, this I can speak to. I've been on low/no food for a week plus in a prior life. It's doable, but the comeback tour will not be what you think. Don't waste a trip to the buffet. Your eyes will be bigger than your stomach. You will consume surprisingly little for those first meals. A normal sized meal will be too much, and you'll probably get sick with that amount. Take it slow.

Thank you loyal fellow Rolex owner. It’s more about pictures to send to my employees and charity proving I’m a winner. I might even buy the restaurant and rename it HustleBuffet.

The booze and the mayo are too early.

Cinco de Mayo isn’t until next month…

Until then it’s strictly Diet Coke and fat-free mayo, my friend…get with it!!!

Kind of. In my broke as heck college days, we would go to this place called Chesapeake Bay Seafood House that had all you can eat seafood for $19.99. It wasn’t a buffet but they would bring you as much as you could eat. We would forgo everything but the crab legs and shrimp. After a couple of hours or so we were told we had reached our limit. One member of our party decided to argue about false advertising and we were promptly shown the door and advised to never return. I weighed myself before and after, gained 7 pounds.

Just looked up what a bushel of blue crab goes for these days and almost fainted. Last time I was there, it was the cheapest fishing bait you could get.

No, but I did one time watch a couple at a Chinese buffet in Norwalk, CA eat at least 30 plates between them and then, at the very end, complain to the proprietor that they felt queasy and that the food must have been bad and demand a refund. The owner called the Police who escorted them off the premises. The whole thing was quite humorous. If TikTok... or social media... or cell phones would have been around at the time, I could have shared the experience.

We ordered of bushel of xxlarge jumbos last fall and it came to over $600 with shipping. Same bushel cost $40-60 tops back when I lived there. They were darn good though.

I think the proper etiquette is you're not supposed to eat at the buffet but instead take the food back to your table.

Sitting and eating at the buffet tables is just rude.

When I was in high school, I got some dirty looks from the management at a local "all you can eat" buffet restaurant. They always put the cheap stuff (salads, pasta) at the start of the line hoping you'll load up on that stuff and not have room on your plate for the good stuff (roast beef, chicken, fish).

Yup…not for eating to much though. In my college years there was a local buffet and we were kicked out for drunk and disorderly…lol.

In my hood, buffet place opened up but they didnt factor in that a lot of islanders (espesically Tongans and Samoans) live in the area.

I went there couple of times and it was full with 300lb islanders going after plate by plate and having 2 hour lunches. Place then replaced the big dinner plates with smaller sized ones...didn't really work out. In 8 months, they closed.

True story.
