Original leather strap and gold buckle for date just 1601?

Hi all gurus,

Do you know where I can find or buy the original leather 1601 date just strap and buckle?

Attached is the sample. I don't mind a different color if is available.

Thank you.

Some people collect them, but honestly I don't recommend a vintage strap for regular wear. Old straps are often stiff and brittle and in poor condition.

I inquired last year, and my local AD sells new Rolex leather straps.

The price was too steep for me. I’ve seen vintage Rolex straps and buckles posted for sale in the TRF accessories section.

Personally I think you’d be better off with a new generic strap and Rolex buckle. Or get both new from Rolex if you want to afford that.

This. You can't have a beautiful watch worth that much and then go miserly on a cheap aftermarket strap/buckle.

Direct from Rolex, I'm thinking maybe $600 for a gold buckle and $2-300 for the strap. All in for under a grand!

Splash out on the real thing.

The Rolex Datejust 1601 is a classic timepiece that features a variety of strap options, including leather straps. When seeking an original leather strap and gold buckle for your Rolex Datejust 1601, it is recommended to consider a few factors:
Authenticity: To ensure you are purchasing an original strap and buckle, it is best to source them from authorized Rolex dealers, reputable watch retailers, or certified watchmakers. Be cautious of counterfeit or replica straps that may not meet the quality standards of Rolex.
Quality: Look for high-quality materials and craftsmanship in both the leather strap and gold buckle. Genuine leather straps should be made of premium leather that is durable and comfortable to wear. The gold buckle should be made of solid gold or gold-plated stainless steel, depending on your preference and budget.
Remember, original Rolex accessories can be a significant investment, so it is important to conduct thorough research, purchase from reliable sources, and verify the authenticity and compatibility of the items before making a purchase.

My experience trying to find a gold buckle (plated or solid) proved to be very difficult. There are so many fakes and I wasn’t able to find a reliable source for authentic hallmarks. Not saying it’s impossible but more effort than I wanted to put forth. SS buckles on the other hand seem to be more plentiful and often in the plastic blisters.

I have read from several experienced forum members that if the watch didn’t originally come on strap or the strap wasn’t an option, you’ll have a hard time ordering one from an AD. I asked my AD about a buckle and they basically looked at me like I was crazy. YMMV

Good luck and please post a pic if you find one

Go to a different AD. Many are open to an interpretation of the rules.

Rolex straps & Gold plated buckle from Rolex are relatively very good value last time I enquired. Solid gold was many hundreds of pounds (uk).
