Icon3 Would you trade

A mint 2021 DJ41 126334 BLSJ with box+papers+original purchase receipt

For a

16710, any bezel color, post 2000 with SEL / lugholes with service papers, at best?

I also have a 12 series Sub Date. I don't seem to wear the DJ that much. While I do seem to miss the GMT function. I'm not keen on any ceramic GMTs and have second thoughts about the Tudor TT GMT I was contemplating...
I'd rather spend a fraction of its price on a Jubilee bracelet and two more bezel inserts for the 16710.

Oh and that will have to be a straight swap, no cash involved either way.

Thanks in advance for any and all input

With a Sub in the collection, I would definitely not do this trade. I would much prefer your current variety.

Had the same question…

Anyway, it sounds like you prefer the 16710 and don’t really wear the DJ so for that reason I would say go for it.

Personally, I would just add the 16710 and not sell the DJ but everyone’s situation is different..

Do you mean the 16710 or the 116710? The poll says one, the post says another.

Yes, what the post says, 16710. Not 116710. My bad, didn't edit that one on time.

Thanks

Just that configuration usually has dial/bezel/bracelet

What's the bezel in that case?

I agree, Steve. And as much as I like the DJ41, the 16710 just makes so much more sense for me to own. If I can bring myself to buy pre-owned...

16710 without blinking. The opportunity to switch out a six digit for five digit should always be jumped on!

Get the 16710, with a jubilee bracelet and the other bezel inserts, you have a 6-in-1 piece. There are AM bezel inserts that are faded or have different color combos, the options are endless!

The GMT 16710 is an amazing and versatile watch but the build quality in terms of bracelet and clasp, non anti reflective saphir is a downgrade vs 6 digits but as long as you are aware of this ok. The good thing with the older lighter bracelet is that it makes the watch extremely comfortable

Not fond of setting GMTs but I get the tiredness of the blue DJ. If you really must own a GMT than wear what you like and don't worry about pennys!!!

16710. GMT pairs perfectly with a Sub.
Even if it was a one and only, I'd choose the GMT over a DJ.

The DJ even in the new Rolex buying environment is easily replaced if you miss it so go for it.

Have DJ and 16700 pepsi full set. Id stick with the DJ for daily use. Old pepsi is super nice but not something you would want to wear daily if you compare with DJ. Ultimately i traded both to 126710BLRO.

Hard choice for me. I like the GMT better than the DJ comparing just the two, but in your collection a blue DJ makes sense to diversify your collection. I think this only makes sense since you don't wear the DJ much. I voted to do the trade.

For Pepsi or Coke 16710 yes, but I would say no to black.
Anyway , I agree with Kenny. Keep the DJ and add 16710 to the collection but depend on your situation.

Money-wise its black and white - finding out what the GMT is worth vs what the DJ41 is worth is pretty straightforward. So its either a good deal or not. If its not a good deal and you want to proceed with it just do 2 separate transactions.

Setting aside the money question, you want a gmt and dont wear the DJ41 much. I prefer DJ41 + 12 Sub as opposed to 16710 gmt + 12 sub... but ultimately thats a question of taste. If the DJ41 is not getting any wrist time and you dont love it then its not a terrible idea to get rid of it.

Can’t beat the 16710! It is a classic, and while there are many the do get harder to come by over time.
