Incoming Sd4k

I’d wanted a Sea Dweller for a while to go with the Ploprof. Really liked proportions on this one better than the larger Sea Dwellers. Need to get into saturation diving now I suppose.

Wow! You’ve chosen well! Exceptional piece and by far the best sports reference Rolex have ever made!

Wear in good health!

Best modern sports reference would be the 16600. Tapered lugs and aluminum bezel.

Congratulations. It looks great on you.

I can’t speak about saturation diving and I’m not sure if this is helpful.

I’ve a PADI recreational diver’s licence and am a good swimmer so I’m comfortable in water.

The deepest I’ve ever dived is just under 35m. Frankly, it was one of the most unnerving experiences I’ve ever had. It was eerily quiet and all I could hear were the inhalation / exhalation from my regulator.

The descent from the surface to the sea floor felt like an eternity and I was starting to wonder if I’d run out of oxygen or lost my bearings. I was hugely relieved to finally touch the bottom.

And when I checked my dive computer, only ~2 minutes had elapsed since I began my descent.

The rest of the dive was much less stressful and it was nice to just explore the reefs and all. Saw a whale shark too.

Yes joking about the saturation diving! I’ve done an exploration dive and while it was fun I realized I enjoy being on top of the water a bit more.

Excellent Choice! As a watch dealer, tried many different dive watches, SD4K has the best proportions, clean no cyclops and modern glidelock.

Fits you well. From your photo the 43mm version would probably have been too big for you. Congrats

Looks amazing - SD4k is my favourite divers’ watch.
Have a birth year one for my son (2014).

Nice I’m sure he’ll enjoy wearing that one.
I started getting interested in Rolex around 2014 and had the opportunity to buy this at an AD. Just too much money at the time lol.

I hate how this, the last proportionate Sub, was discontinued while I was saving up for it out of college in favor of the “Submariner Plus”.

There are 100+ for sale on Chrono24, so sourcing one shouldn't be an issue.
