My Three Rolex Grail Collection & the one I regret selling - Show us yours!
Although not much compared to fabulous collections here, I have completed my collection of Rolex pieces I have always wanted after all these years. Although I may be speaking prematurely, I think I will never want or need anything else. Recently let go a couple of Omega pieces and gave my 3861 Speedy to my wife. So a little background.. The first Rolex I ever laid eyes on was a replica my cousin gave to me at the age of 12. I promised to myself I will own the same blue face DJ one day. - Purchased 2019 At the age of 20, I fulfilled my dream of acquiring my very first Rolex which was a 16700. I wore it for 20+ years as my only watch but I eventually let it go back in 2019. Huge lesson learned. So basically got my very first watch back in the form of a BLRO. - Purchased 2023 While having the 16700 for a decade or two, I always envied submariner owners when seen around.. Not sure why but back in the 90’s, I felt like I had an entry level Rolex next to the Air King. I always liked the beefier look a sub with the thicker case and crown that I had the black bezel insert for most of the time. One day, I saw a Bluesy on someone. That was it. It’s over. Instant grail piece for me, and this was in the 90’s. -Purchased 2023 Just wanted to quickly share my experience. Show us your three rolex grail collections!!!!!! And for the one that got away :) |

Great trio! And everyone has there own level when it comes to Grails
Your 3 are great. Oddly enough when I was on my “grail run” 3 was the number also. Something about 2 didn’t complete me. Maybe still not done. I went on a SS run as well over the last decade plus but these are the 3 that for the most part did “it” for me. But I’m a tad bored atm.

Good point on having 2 only though. I think 3 is the sweet spot as you can add a dress watch along the mix as we all want sport watches. |

I have the same 2 out of 3. My third is a Day-date 18238 I just picked up a couple weeks ago. Like you, I don’t foresee ever needing anything else outside of these three. That Datejust is beautiful btw.

Didn't you just buy a 126613LN earlier this month?

Let that one go for a loss, unfortunately. It stopped singing to me after a few days or so, and honestly felt that I would rather have a SS sub with same black face and all. Replaced it with the Bluesy and called it a day.

That's a pity, looked like you were really enjoying it in your incoming thread a couple of weeks ago. Hope you didn't lose much.

Bluesy does seem to be on the flashy side. It’s ok as blue is my favorite color. So how long have you had your LN? |

I was wondering how to word this without coming off as offensive…so I’ll just say that when you look at this line up, Rolex just doesn’t even come close. Coming from a Rolex fan who doesn’t even own a PP/AP…

Other owners tho have commented that the overall Exp bracelet once sized doesn't give your hand much space to get it on (only a problem once per day on initial fitment). The Exp dial is super legible and I love the gold markers. I prefer the brushed bracelet on the OP and the yellow dial is fantastic. That said I would highly recommend both watches. I'm now on the waiting list for a DJ, Jubilee bracelet, Fluted bezel.......either SS with Green dial or a Rose TT with a Chocolate dial. |

My rolex super trio is very predictable, clichéd and boring as hell. And which watches do I regret that I have sold? All...
