Thinking of selling my SMP

Been thinking of selling my SMP. I’ll sell it if I can break even (which can be tough for SMP).

I am pretty sure I will miss it but I want to get a Daytona WG and I don’t want two which of the same functions.

Will I really miss it? I do like how no one notice my SMP where as I when I wear my Rolex, I get too much attentions…

You won’t break even and how are we supposed to know if you’ll miss it or not?

I think OP refers to Seamaster Pro.

Im more confused about the Daytona comparison. Or is it the Seamaster Pro Chrono? Even then, they are 2 totally different watches. If you take it in the water, you will definitely miss it.

This is an unreasonable condition to set. Even so, you can probably figure out the likelihood of breaking even in a matter of minutes.

Will you miss a Seamaster Professional while admiring a WG Daytona on your wrist? Uh, no.

Unless you bought that Seamaster second hand you have 0% chance of breaking even. Just keep it and add the pm Daytona, they are very different pieces.

Definitely he’s referring to speedmaster.

If you are set on Daytona then go and never look back, you can always add again later down the road the speedy

SMP , maybe the OP is using SMP for Speedmaster professional instead of the Seamaster professional?

If it is the Speedy Pro, I would keep in and I think the dial is much easier to read than the Daytona.

Thinking of selling my SMP

Speed master or sea master?

Regardless I wouldn’t sell any omega … you’re going to get smoked price wise.

Lastly, I have owned a speedy and currently own a Daytona and there is no question which one is superior… Daytona by a mile and for me at least the legibility is fine

Be aware that the Daytona wears quite small to some people. Looks great on a female wrist though so you can share with a female easily.

Good luck with that. Which reference number do you own and how much did you pay for it?

Are you referring LeMans 100th Anniversary model and what makes you think you’re at the top of the dealer’s allocation list for that item?

STOP IT! You’re considering a WG Daytona for the flex appeal!

The OP is referring to the Seamaster Professional. SMP has never ever had a reference with a Speedmaster. Speedy or Moonwatch is what it is commonly referred to and with the Submariner is the most iconic watch in the world and has a greater history than any Daytona.

Put it away for 3 months

See if you miss it then after 3 months you’ll know

I sold mine cause it was too big then immediately bought it back within a year it’s my fav watch but I’m a biased omega fanboy

I sold my speedy pro many years ago only to buy another a couple years ago when they came out with the big big speedy pro’s. It is a wonderful watch, I would take it over the Daytona but that’s me.

It's a Seamaster, not sure which of the thousands of variations that the OP has, but if he/she bought it 10 years ago, then he/she might be able to recoup the money.

The gold Daytona is a waste of money. There, I said it. It is stupid, stupid, stupid to put a gold watch on a rubber strap. If you buy a gold watch with a gold bracelet (as you should) then it is OK, but then we're talking some serious coin. Anyone who's trying to squeeze a nickel out of an old Omega probably can't afford a real Daytona on a real bracelet.

Yes, and I've BTDT, except mine was before this ceramic bezel nonsense, and was on leather. Still not worth it, I preferred the SS version. Although, as noted above, they are generally not very legible, which is why I got rid of both of them.
