What did they do with the 08 redesign vs. prior to 08?

The new bracelet was first redesigned with the announcement to the in-house movement at Basel in March 2000. WatchTime did a review in February 2001, so the watch was released prior to Feb 2001. The bracelet clasp was again changed in late 2008. This thread details that change. From what I understand, some of the late M series and some of the early V series have the new clasp, but not all. I have been told that it varies so you have to check the individual piece to confirm the clasp.
