Desk divers and beaters…
I was adjusting some bracelets for friends and came upon this wear and tear on a relatively new watch.
I am shocked.

Do they tie it to a string and drag it around town on their bike?

This appears to be a DJ2 which means it is a bit older than you may think.
The proportions look so wonky because this was the transitional model that pre-dates the DJ41

Holy Crap
I’ve been abusing my 5 digit sub for over a decade and it’s not close to that. He actually wore through the bracelet. Incredible.

I’ve got an old tag aquaracer that did 15 years of daily everything from desk diving to scuba diving, mountain biking and rock climbing. And it still looks pretty decent. No idea what it takes to do this. That must need power tools/ mechanical equipment…

It’s made of metal. How is that even possible without extreme negligence?

My friend has lost a lot of weight and I was able to remove the two most damaged links for a perfect fit.
Kinda of a win :)

So much for the solid end links are so much better argument. Joking…
Looks like it saved his wrist from an angle grinder at some point.

Wow, well good for your friend. He’s showing that owning a Rolex doesn’t necessarily mean a safe queen!!

My wife's SS DJ bracelet looked close to that after the first month, she's a teacher, and actually stopped wearing it because of that despite me telling her it's not a big deal.

The watch is authentic as well as he other two I adjusted for him.
Also adjusted a mutual friends gmt (Batman) His simple explanation was the computer keyboard was not positioned ideally and he would typically rest his wrists on the counter surface while using it.
