I need a change! Lange&Söhne or Patek Philippe

CURRENT COLLECTION

Now I need a change! In one month I will become 27 years old and christmas is also not so far.

How do you think about Lange & Söhne SAXONIA Ref.:215.026 and Patek Philippe CALATRAVA 5119?

Which one would you prefer? Where is the history, cost performance ratio, quality... the best?

Please help me to find a decision.

nice collection...all are great but that Tudor is HOT

on the change, I like the Saxonia better...they are both great watches and you are lucky to be choosing among them...couldn't go wrong on either...both are top of the line so just pick what you find prettier cuz esthetics is all that matters when you compare two bests :)...my pick: Saxonia (and the Calatrava when you turn 47 :) its kinda too classic looking)...enjoy.

Hello there!
Great collection you have there, that Tudor looks fantastic!
And I wonder...why in the hell are you interested in two way too conservative watches, for guy of your age?
For that amount of money, you could pick some real gems, that have much more intriguing design and abilities. Look at JLC catalogue, their Master Geographic and similar watches...
And, about those two, my vote is for Pathek! Calatrava is an icon, and Pathek is always great investment!
All the best!

Hmm while I love and respect both brands neither of those really do it for me.

Of the two models you picked Id have to go with the Lange and I lust over a Patek! Just for some reason the Lange looks better than the Patek in these models.

You can get a nicer looking Lange at a cheaper price but I would vote Patek. Patek watches are the dream watches and the ones to own!!

The Patek is beautiful, but too small for my wrist. The Saxonia would get my vote between these two.

Either can be had for a meaningful discount, and the notion that all Pateks are great investments is simply not true. IF this model were to rise in value, it would likely be your children--and possibly your GRANDchildren--who would be the ones to benefit. Limited edition Pateks and Langes have been known to rise in value. Neither of these are limited.

So...try them both, and you'll know which one smiles harder at YOU.

A change would be nice, indeed. Both are great watches so you win either way. As stated above go try both, but my vote went for the Patek Philippe, of course

Been very happy with Lange and they're great watches. THIS PP leaves me flat, but you really have to decide what smiles back at you.

Patek Philippe all the way, their watches are simply amazing masterpieces. I particularily like the Calatrava collection as well. However, in my humble opinion, PP:s watches look best with a gold/rose gold bezel.

I would personally go with the Saxonia because I like it better than the PP Cal.

What surprised me is how you can afford so many great watches at a mere age of 27.

:-) I sadly don´t won the lottery!

The secret is: I don´t have a woman!!! :-) Be sure I am a average austrian citizen and earn my money with normal work (no porn, no drugs, no violence). For a tiemepiece I have to save a long long time but it´s always worthwile.

But maybe I should start to invest my money in young girls like this. :-)

what ever you getting, get a used one. if you could get one on mint condition. you may or may not get both of them at the best condition, so which ever one you ran into will save you some money..
i plan on getting a used patek next..

Well...the pastry looks fantastic !...I suggest that:

A) You have enough watches for now.

and

B) You start planning your Christmas trip to Rio de Janeiro.....

...unless you can do both...

That looks like a very promising investment indeed

Anyhow, personally, I prefer watches over travelling so I think you're prioritizing just right.
