First Rolex! Which One???

Hello,
I am a 32 yr old female, looking for my first Rolex.
I was at an AD yesterday and tried on the Dayjust 36 oystersteel Jubilee in Blue, and added myself on the waitlist for the Mint Green one. But now that i am looking at the website, i cannot decide if i should get the oystersteel and yellow gold one (with either white, black or champagne dial) for more feminene look. Do you guys think the oystersteel is too masculine for me??

Size looks good. A lighter dial will work better IMO.

Welcome to the forum

Luckily, you’ve got such a great variety of choices with the DJ. No wrong answer really. IMO darker colors look a bit more masculine than the lighter colored dials

My girlfriend wears a 39mm Oyster Perpetual with Blue dial on an Oyster bracelet and I think that looks great on her wrist. Rolex does some great shades of blue. Pick that works best for you. I think these photos of the DJ36 on you wrist look fantastic so no advice here to consider anything different. Good luck!

The steel-and-gold honestly isn't considered more feminine than the steel. Plenty of men love steel-and-gold, myself included.

So no, I don't think steel looks the slightest too masculine. It looks fantastic on you.

Actually I have a Datejust 36 mm Wimbledon and works perfect for me. Despite some people say I’m strongly against femenine or masculine models. If you like it, go for it.
Plus I think both of your choices are awesome

Size seems to works well for you.

Take a picture from 4 or feet feet away in a full size mirror.

I think the 36mm steel looks great on you. Dial color is all preference. Can’t go wrong with any configuration. Buy what puts the biggest smile on your face.

Thats one possibility yes, its so hard to decide!!

I am debating about following currently;
White roman - oystersteel and yellow gold
Bright black with diamonds - oystersteel and yellow gold
Champagne - oystersteel and yellow gold
Mint green- oystersteel

Looks great imo…you could do the 36 for the modern look or 31 for a classic look.

Lots of females seem to prefer the two-tone models for some reason but all steel certainly doesn’t look masculine on you..especially IRL when the lights sparkle off the bezel and bracelet.

If going two-tone, you could also consider the rose gold (rolesor) and steel models.

Tons of choices for women’s Datejusts…

I am on the wait list for a 36 mm black dial, with or without diamonds. When it comes to my finer watches, I like to pick dial colors that will go with everything. With the fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet, no color looks masculine, not to mention that anyone can wear any color they like. Lately, though, I am leaning toward changing my plan, in favor of the green dial. It’s such a nice color. I just got a 36 mm silver dial OP, so this next purchase will have to wait for awhile. As for your pic, the 36 mm looks perfect, on your wrist.

Thanks all! Super helpful feedbacks.
Here are my options so far;
Oystersteel with Green Mint
Oystersteel with Yellow Gold Champagne
Oystersteel with Yellow Gold Black

I prefer your first choice. I love the yellow gold accents on my silver dial Op, but not a fan of yellow gold watches.

If you can get the mint, I'd go with that. I like the 31mm version for many women, my wife included, but bigger works too for more of a sporty look.

A lot of women like two one bc it is more versatile as far as matching gold or silver jewelry.

I have both a two tone champagne and ss blue dial, both fluted and jubilee. Can’t go wrong with either.

That 36mm looks great on your wrist! I think that is the perfect size. I honestly don't think the full SS looks too masculine. I've seen quite a few ladies wear full SS pieces and it looks great on them.

There is no right or wrong and it really comes down to the one you like the look of the most. Which one makes you feel good when you look down at your wrist? The TT (Two Tone) gold and SS is definitely a dressier piece and the gold brings a bit of "bling" to it. If you tend to wear more formal attire, then that may be the one for you? If you do a lot more casual activities, then the sold SS might be a better fit? A SS piece can work well in formal situations as well though.

Have you seen the mint dial in person? It's quite the beautiful dial! One of my favorites for sure and I personally think you cannot go wrong with that one. Best of luck on whichever you decide on!

Welcome to the forum! I think the blue dial looks great but it’s all about your personal style. The darker dials will stand out more on your wrist where the lighter dials will blend in more with your outfits. Plus, as everyone here will tell you nothing wrong with having more than one!

I think the blue dial looks great and size looks good but I’ve always thought a submariner on a lady always looks great as well

Male here, and I inherited this DJ 26mm Two-Tone Jubilee MOP dial w/diamond markers ref:16233. I really feel the is just too famine for my tastes, but would look beautiful on a female. Remember, diamonds are a girls best friend!

IMG_0511.jpeg

I recently purchased an authentic Rolex Champagne dial w/stick markers and sent my DJ off the my watchmaker for a dial swap. Below is a Google image of what my 16233 will exactly look like when I get it back.

My girlfriend wears a DJ 41 with the blue dial and it looks great. I love it on jubilee. She has a smaller two tone with mother of pearl dial but never wears it.

Apologies for my last pot due to the image not coming through of the Champagne dial. Even the attachment is wrong, but you get the picture.
