Not clever enough
A dog walks into a butcher's shop carrying a large basket in its mouth. He jumps onto the counter, puts the basket down and pulls out a note from it. The butcher opens the note and it reads; "Please give the dog 1lb of pork sausages, a pound of bacon, half a dozen lamb chops, 3 lb of flank steak and three slices of shepherd's pie." The butcher weighs the meat and puts them in the basket.
"That'll be $29.50", he says to the dog, who takes a purse from the basket and counts out the exact change with his mouth. The dog then takes the basket in his mouth and leaves. The butcher is left boggled with the brilliance of the dog. He is even more amazed when the dog comes back the next week and does the same thing. Another week passes and the dog comes in again and the butcher sold him the things he wanted and then closed his shop so he could follow the dog home. As the dog trots through the streets, he carefully looks both ways before crossing the roads and the butcher follows in amazement as the dog negotiates busy intersections always being very careful. The dog finally turns into a driveway and walks up to the front door of the house and knocks on it with his paw. The door opens and a man comes out and starts kicking and beating the dog. The butcher is horrified and steps in; "Stop, why are you beating such an intelligent animal?" "He has to learn," the man replies. "This is the third time this month he forgot his keys."
