Icon3 F.P.Journe FFC

i am fascinated and blown away with this model. apparently, there are only 5 at the moment; all of which are made by journe himself as he does not entrust production with anyone else.

but according to an interview, it will be a public release rather than a prototype piece. simply brilliant in mechanical execution - and for those able to get one

Will have a chance to handle the FFC later this month when the Journe team comes in for dinner. Very excited to meet other collectors and Mr Saito again but no way able to afford the S$1.5m watch. Will post my impression of the watch and pics after the event.

The piece is a 42mm but did not feel like a 42mm as it is very thin. Also, the “hand” is not as prominent as the picture suggests. My wife was “scared” of the hand before she saw it IRL, but now she is actually fine with it. All and all, it is a very unique piece and it would be my exit piece if I ever get one. (As if I can get one )

Would never wear this - perhaps acquire it for investment purposes that's all, if anything. Much too gimmicky, creepy, weird to be worn regularly.

My wife thought the hand was scary at first but changed her mind after seeing it in person. She still does not love it but at the same time can appreciate it being unique. It is not easy to build an automaton in such a thin movement but still has almost two days of power reserve.

look forward to seeing some pics from the event, i just am fascinated with this particular piece. if i had the cash, would be in the daily rotations for sure.

from the interview with wai ko, the limited pieces seem to be priced at 1.5m. my guess would be 4-500k for production version. still a dream but better than 1.5m .

Attended the FPJ's dinner hosted by Masa for the introduction of FFC. There is a working piece for customers to handle. Didn't manage to see the instantaneous switch over of the fingers but the engraving looks great on the hand. It is quite big for my wrist at 42mm and if I need an excuse not to spend S$1.3m, this is it.

The last course dessert is watch-themed. Nice touch.

It looks fine on you. Since this is a heads on shot, I think on the wrist from another angle should not be too bad. Even though it is a 42, it is quite thin so I think it will not be big for most wrists.

The watch is indeed much better IRL than the picture. One day, I wish...

Thanks for these awesome pictures. I actually think that you could absolutely pull off the watch. I think some pieces of your current collection wear significantl bigger. So, excuse gone! ;-)

The entire event my eyes were glued to the Vagabond 3 on SJX's wrist as he was sitting diagonally to me. The last time I saw him, he was wearing a 38mm brass Tourbillon. Can't wait to see his Souscription set. Great guy to speak to (learnt a lot from him).

It's way too big for my wrist. Both ends of the lugs extend beyond my wrist.
