5513 Service in Seattle area

My 45+ year old 5513 is in need of service. I noticed a bit of rust or discoloration around the rehaut. The last service was performed in-house at an AD in Michigan. That was about 15 years ago.

In looking for a Seattle-area service provider, I'm getting some conflicting information. I spoke to Jan at Nesbit's and she informed me that they no longer service 4-digit references.

I called the BB in U-Village and the person I spoke to did not give me much confidence. I was told that they'd "probably" service it, but most likely it would be sent to TX, which is the last thing I want (last time it went there it came back with a new bezel).

I've heard good things about Eric at the Tacoma Mall BB, but then I also read that he is actually at an off-site location. I'd really like to know how to contact him directly as opposed to leaving my watch at a store.

No offense to other independents, but I'd rather not ship the watch. That freaks me out.

I've had this watch since 1987 and it is an heirloom and it means a lot to me that it's in good hands. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you! - Jim

I just had my 1625 serviced at an independant in Tacoma and am really pleased by the results. Neither fast nor cheap, but excellent customer service too. PM me if you are interested and I'll give you the details.

Hey Jim, I know of someone who is referral only, but he still works on 4 digits and can get parts. I will send you a private message

Ben Bridge. They have a big service complex near Seattle for all watches that come into the company from around the country.

As for the 5513 or any Rolex with the 15xx movements, Rolex is not providing parts in the US for repairs.

Plenty of independents, but some parts may be from aftermarket vendors or not replaced, but cleaned. You need to ask the watchmaker what they intend to do with your watch.
