Space, the final frontier.

Surreal!

The Ring Nebula from Webb

Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, JWST; Processing: Zi Yang Kong

Explanation: The Ring Nebula (M57), is more complicated than it appears through a small telescope. The easily visible central ring is about one light-year across, but this remarkable exposure by the James Webb Space Telescope explores this popular nebula with a deep exposure in infrared light. Strings of gas, like eyelashes around a cosmic eye, become evident around the Ring in this digitally enhanced featured image in assigned colors. These long filaments may be caused by shadowing of knots of dense gas in the ring from energetic light emitted within. The Ring Nebula is an elongated planetary nebula, a type of gas cloud created when a Sun-like star evolves to throw off its outer atmosphere to become a white dwarf star. The central oval in the Ring Nebula lies about 2,500 light-years away toward the musical constellation Lyra.

In my opinion, if they were as intelligent as you believe them to be, they would not believe in miracles and would avoid this planet by far.

In my opinion, first they should have been found some intelligent beeings here, but it's impossible, because as we all know, the dolphins had been already thanked for the fishes, and the whale was transported back into the last century. This is the story why no intelligent life form remained here...

I do love this deep space stuff.

To think we went from this with Hubble:

To these from the Webb

I can’t wait for an interstellar “Columbus” to make a house call. The Webb served new imagery that suspends the beliefs of astronomers who opined on the Hubble imagery.

This just shows how deep the secrets of our universe are buried. Can you imagine the multiverse?

It’s awesome. I’m always keeping up-to-date with the latest from JWST. I’m not sure people realize this, but a lot of the images haven’t been released yet. They are held from the public for as much as a year. This is because some scientists have exclusive rights to them for research. Eventually, they’ll all be released. So there is a lot more on the way for us to see.

We watched the James Webb documentary earlier this week Steve.

An amazing project.

No, but I think since most of the humans are far less intelligent than him, I think an alien would do a facepalm first and then quickly fly off to Betelgeuse for a beer. I think a well-intentioned intelligent being would avoid us by a long way. Rather.

So now somewhere in the galaxy is a bad Yelp / Google review for Earth.

Got it.

You can’t get a real Philadelphia Cheesesteak anywhere else in this universe. It’s a big problem. I’d travel from Andromeda and back to get one.

Okay, you guys win, this is "Best Wonderful World" ever here.

We just need a few aliens to believe this and we would live like that for ever and ever. But if this is really the best world in the universe, shouldn't it be kept in a secret from others? Just to keep it for ourselfs only?

Just finished this last week: m8 or The Lagoon Nebula, it was taken in my backyard with a Newtonian telescope on a German Equatorial mount and mono camera with filters to enhance the different space dust (Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen 3 and Sulpher). It’s around 200 two minute imagine stacked together to bring out fine details. I used an odd color palette, Hence “The Joker”
Great article on why earth is so special here : https://www.astronomy.com/science/is...ilocks-planet/
Synopsis: it’s really complicated, but while the universe is immense, our home orbits the “right” kind of sun at the right distance, Jupiter takes out the killer asteroid’s, the moon regulates our oceans, our atmosphere and magnetic field act as a cocoon for life to grow from single cell bacteria to complicated intelligent life over billions of years, all without getting decimated by a super nova
