Which Daytona? Chocolate or Ghost

Ok, gang I'm seeking some input from the collective brain trust. I have a 116515, chocolate dial. It's a beautiful, comfortable, great watch. But sometimes the chocolate dial is hard to pair with my normal daily. I'm considering trading for the 116509 or maybe the 116519. White gold, silver dial, seems like folks call it the ghost dial... Who would make this trade, a RG Daytona for a WG Daytona and would you stick with Oysterflex or go full bracelet?

I would go full bracelet 116509 although the oyster flex ghost is also mega but personally I prefer the feel of the full bracelet. Good luck which ever one you choose!

The chocolate dial is beautiful, one I love to look at especially when the light hits it just right. Maybe I've just been staring at too many pics of the 1165x9 too long and the brighter dial comparatively makes you want that over the darker chocolate dial.

Personally, I’d go for the mint chocolate chip Daytona. Tasteful and tasty!

100% agree with this. I would go full bracelet having owned both OF and full bracelet PM Daytonas. Oh, and notre dame football stinks. You will probably beat my buckeyes this year for the first win over Ohio state since before WWII

Lol. I doubt the golden domers will beat Ohio State this year. Lost our OC and best QB to Alabama.

I previously owned a yellow gold champagne dial Daytona, 116508. I miss that watch but it was pretty flashy. Had a steel 116520 white dial but that went the YG came in. Now the OF, it’s fantastic but the ceramic bezel is a true stroke of genius. It keeps the watch looking brand new. Wish it was on all the full bracelet models like the new WG Rolex just released. If they came out with ceramic and option for OF it would be my perfect setup.

My obsession with Rolex’s white gold started after trying in the new WG Sub at my AD. Rolex WG is a real stunner.

Plus the delta between the full WG and OF RG is basically/close to zero for all intents and purposes. But to jump to full RG it’s still well above retail.

My choice would be the chocolate on bracelet. I have a 116508 and while it's very flashy the feeling of wearing it is incredible. The rose chocolate will be less bling than the yg but will still have enough wrist presence.

If I were going wg, I would choose the blue dial on bracelet. The ghost, while it is easier to match, dosent stand out at all. If that's what you are looking for, it's great. But personally, if I'm paying pm prices, I will like people to know it's a PM watch

Can’t go wrong with either. I have ghost love it. Less flashy can wear a lot. I also like the chocolate. Full pm is too flashy for me for the moment but it’s all personal taste

Two different attitudes from bright to warm. It’s such an individual choice in what works best for their personal style.

I like the Rose Gold on Oyster Flex and the white gold on bracelet. Rose gold on bracelet is great too. I prefer watches on bracelet in general, even though I think the Daytona on oyster flex looks amazing.

If it was me, I’d consider making the trade to the white gold on bracelet.

On the Daytona I prefer the bracelet, not OF, so out of these 2 options I would go 519. But RG/choco vs WG/silver, both on bracelet, would be a very difficult choice and I would probably side with choco.

Order of my personal preference:
1. Chocolate on OysterFlex
2. Ghost on Oysterflex
3. Chocolate on Full Bracelet
4. Ghost on Full Bracelet

Assume the OF and the Full Bracelet cost the same respectively.

The Ghost on Full Braclet is stunny, but spending this money, but having the watch looking like another SS model, I would pass on it.

I like the chocolate dial better, but I have also had watches that I like in the case more than on my wrist and with my daily wear (looking at you, Hulk sub).

Thank you all for the input. Its helpful to hear opinions and perpective. Not to pick on populatirty but expereince with both/either model is helpful. Its a first world problem but it what makes the collecting journey fun as well.

Are you referring to pair with clothing?
brown, black and white are considered neutral colors.
