To Polish or not Vintage C&I and Jubilee 6251H Bracelets

Hi everyone,

I just sent my C&I and Jubilee 6251H bracelet to Michael Young for some restoration since gaps in between links are really getting too far apart. My GMT 1675 and 1601 watches havent been polished (atleast at the time i bought it years ago).

I now have the option to have these bracelets polished or not. What do you guys think? Your opinions and personal choice are most helpful. Thanks

Hi,

If not too sure about it, don’t polish.
Did these bracelets come on the watch ? If yes, I guess they were also polished a year ago ?
In this case, I would not polish them again.
On the other hand, if watch were bought head only, polished, and bracelets separately in very used condition, I would polish them so that they match the watch condition.

Whatever will make you more happy with the bracelets. It really doesn't matter. I would generally want the bracelet to be to be in approximately the same condition as the watch.

Do not let Michael Young's shop polish your bracelet! They once butchered one of my Sub bracelets. All but removed the crown from the clasp. Way too aggressive.

I quit using Young years ago due to issues a couple times with some bracelets he worked on.

The work can come out great at times, or not so great other times.

Oh no! Praying now for the best. But since its there should i have it polished? Thinking the 7206 no polish and Jubilee to be polished.

This will be your call ricovelasco. I personally would prefer how the overall package would have looked when new if possible. Just my preference.
