Buying an insert?

Will an AD that has a service department sell you an insert directly without getting an actual service?

I know I can buy on eBay or resellers, but no way I’m paying $500 for just an insert when I can have my whole watch serviced for ~$1k and get an insert probably for $100 at the same time.

The reason I’m asking is there’s a scratch on my insert and it annoys me enough that I’d like to swap it out. So wondering if an AD would let me order and purchase just the insert.

Thx!

Edit: Actually can I just send the watch in to get an insert replacement only? Originally was going to service the watch, but it’s in great condition so it doesn’t really make sense to service at this point. Hence trying to hunt down an insert.

I bought a Pepsi insert for my 16710 a couple months ago from an AD for like $60, kept the Coke insert also.

This price (60-75 USD) sounds about right for an aluminum insert, which is typically or a 'replace' basis (despite they allowed you to keep the coke this time).

Are we sure the OP has a 4/5 digit ref? Or are they referring to ceramic? (they also scratch)

@OP: Which watch are you talking about?

It’s for a 5 digit ref. In particular a 16610LV.

I did some more searching around the interwebs last nite and it seems it’s impossible now to buy an insert w/o trading your original in first. I need to call an RSC on Monday and see what the process is.

Also, I misspoke. Poking around, LV inserts are going for ~$1k!

This kinds of brings up the question, what if yours popped off randomly and you have nothing to trade in?

i doubt it, ADs don't sell part and any major part repairs go back to RSC
