Thoughts on this 16710 please?

Hello, I have the opportunity to buy a 16710 from a fellow collector. It is priced at £11,000 without the jubilee.

I've asked for further pics of the sides / lugs. What is the general consensus on this please?Name: IMG_20230827_182327_926.jpg

The lugs look good to me, but the side of the case looks like it was scratched or not polished well. Do you know if this piece was serviced at all?

Had a service 2 years ago by RSC and another service by RSC a few years before that

Are you just buying the head without a bracelet?

£11k for head without the bracelet is steep.
Good example otherwise, I would buy it for £9k. You need to get another bracelet and clasp from RSC which is like £1k

EDIT: sorry posted before I saw your reply. I still think sub £10k is fair. In this market, for a non tritium model, just a run of the mill 16710.

Poor lugs. Poor condition.
These are selling all over the UK with Jubilee for £8-9,000 in the UK in better condition.
Prices falling.
Where have you been looking?

£11k is dealer pricing, even if it’s a full set. Sounds significantly overpriced in the current market. Full set private sale is around £9k.

The bezel scallops (whatever you call them) are a little soft looking, and the chamfers on the lugs are a bit more pronounced — just indicators of polishing

I don't know UK pricing, but seems over priced in that condition with oyster bracelet

Looks over polished to be, with some soft edges. One of the lugs looks heavily over polished, to the point that it’s not as thick as the other, on the same side. I would look for a better example.

I think the case looks very nice. It's always easier for me to tell case condition on a holes case model...but this looks like it has thick and even lugs to me and still has the matte finish on the top of the lugs. Looks reasonable. I'm not giving an opinion on the price because I only know USD.

The V brushing on lugs is very nice.
The chamfers are definitely too large for a case without lug holes.
Looks like the polished surfaces are not flat and rounded.
It has been polished for sure.
The overall condition is pretty good you can always find better condition but you find a lot that are much worse as well.

Although I don’t own a 16710, those chamfer lines look off to me.

They are too pronounced I feel, and don’t quite taper off correctly, as if it’s someone’s reinterpretation of the chamfers.

Again I may be completely wrong though, or it may be the angle/lighting of the shot.

Looks fine to me for £9k. Won’t be getting a perfect example unless you want to pay a fair bit more.
