Servicing a 16750

I have a 16750 that would need a service, and a few questions:

What is the current situation with shipping a Rolex to the USA (I am in Switzerland)? Is there still a potential issue with US customs?

Alternatively, are there reputable independants that can service my watch in Europe?

How hard is it to source a service matte dial?

Before anyone asks, no, I am not sending it to Rolex Geneva.
Thanks for advice!

You live in Switzerland man! I'm sure there must be some decent watchmakers there!

I have sent watches internationally for service, but only because they needed the attention of a specialist that was hard to find. Dealing with customs issues can be a hassle.

For something straightforward like a 16750, I would spend more time looking for a good watchmaker in Switzerland. Sometimes the best approach is to form a local network of watch friends to get firsthand recommendations.

That's the issue. I'm working far too much to get into a network; hence my question here, where I *thought* it is a network of sorts.

Personally, I'm really not comfortable making public recommendations. It might be a network, but it is completely visible to anyone. If you can identify some members in Switzerland, you may have more success messaging them privately. I am generally much more willing to help out that way when it comes to personal recommendations about individual sellers, buyers, watchmakers, etc. (I'm not in Switzerland, BTW).

@GeorgeK I am sure @Xeramic will be able to advise you on where to get it done locally.
