New to me 78’ 1675 w patina

Just added a GMT 1675 with some nice patina to the collection… Bezel insert is the leader Rolex service insert but I sourced a faded insert that I may put on the watch later on, currently, I like the way it looks with the Vivid insert colors contrasting the yellow powdery patina.

Bonus about the watch is it’s a 1 owner out of an estate with box & papers bought from a well known forum sponsor here by my friend last month but was able to convince him to sell it to me.

Clean collection. Enjoy in good health. It might not be perfect but if you love it then that's all there is to it.

I’m a big fan of vintage Heuers as well, in particular the Autavia’s.
Great looking fun watches that you can enjoy wearing everywhere…
Enjoy!

With a proper faded Rolex service insert now - looks much better and proper, font matches the service insert it came with, the late 1675 didn’t have the fat fat font , not sure if this font is 100% correct to a 78’ but I love the overall look this way

My dream is to find a watch like this at an estate sale. Sadly, I've never come across anything even remotely close. Great find!

Love the warm patina, awesome beautiful dial. One question, is the insert blue-backed and period correct? Is a red backed oval-8 the right insert for 1978?

Great looking watch !

IMO both inserts are much later.
I would still expect a red back insert, even in 78 and at least until the beginning of the 16750 Run.
