I'd say counterfeit or refinished, based on the swiss -T<25 font and lack of ink in areas of the printing, which is characteristic in counterfeits. Also, I don't like the crown and the swiss-T <25 font. Without actually examining the complete dial, it would be hard to determine if it is counterfeit or a redial.

Err buddies...Orchi disagrees on this one...

The Dial is GOOD...!
The watch is handsome...!
The Seller has SOLID Reputations...!

Here's a similar 16800 Sub MID 8mil series with Matte Dial...
posted in VRF Dial Archive...courtesy of Buddy Kristian Haagen...

The only issue about this type of Dial is...
IT's possible that this type of Dial may still glow...
Orchi's suspects the luminous could be luminova...
n possibly being an EARLY RSC replacement Matte Dial...

Hello Orchi. If you compare the two crowns for starters, the one from the watch you pictured to the other, it is clear they are quite different. If you look at where the crown points come out from the base of the crown, you will see they are uneven at the top of the curve on the base. Also, the crown on the dial pictured is not the same style of crown as you pictured - look at them under magnification. But, as we disagree here, one would want to se it in person before passing final judgment. The pics are fairly good, and I'd error on the side of my original conclusion.

I've magnified your pic and the dial in question below. The questioned dial is on top, the dial you posted is below it. Besides what I mentioned in my other post, notice the font on the R, L and the E - they are different also. While the seller might be 100% legit, he, like others, might have been caught on this one, if it is in fact as I believe.

Take care my friend.

Not sure about this one ..... but leaning towards redial based on the slightly off crown and the thin font on the dial.

Will compare it to my 16800 matte dial when I get home.

Can I point out that on 1000 the 1 is on top of R and on Orch's example it is to the left of R. These dials are not the same. IMHO the dial in question is unlike any I have seen so far. Here is a link with 2 Original Rolex dials of the series 16800 for reff.

Err buddies...here's the eBay's Dial again...

The Picture above is courtesy of Buddy Nikos...TQ.

The initial question raised by Buddy TTG...refers to the Coronet...
The above are the same ones...
The REST of features on BOTH Dials are the SAME n IDENTICAL also...

As mentioned by Orchi previously...this has similar Coronet...
with Leftsided "L" below it...from VRF Dial Archive...

At the risk of repeating...Orchi stresses again...that the Dial is GOOD...
The watch is handsome...
n the Seller has SOLID reputations in eBay...
as well as in VRF...

The ONLY issue that Orchi suspects would be...
that this type of Dial(eBay's)...MAY be an early RSC replacement Dial...
with LUMINOVA markers...(despite being marked as "SWISS-T<25")
The Dial may glow bright in the dark...

Thanks for your positive opinion Orchi. I stand by my opinion also, based on the photos, that it is not good, and I have no relationship with, nor do I know the seller! Maybe better photos would help, but I see nothing in the photos presented that indicate it is genuine and defer to my suspicions as I and others have noted.

My 16800 also has a chip (not nearly as large) in the hour hand, as does the one being questioned above - is this common?
