126509 Daytona -- Should I Buy It?

I have the opportunity to purchase a 126509 (WG, Black Dial). It's a beautiful watch!! My first choice was a SS White Dial, second choice was this one. What would you do in my shoes? How rare are the WG Daytona's?

Incredible watch.

You put it in the #2 slot of your wishlist so you must have been seriously interested, right?

Oh nice, the 126509 with the black dial is definitely a stunning choice, white gold Daytona are generally considered rare than stainless steel ones, so it could be a unique addition to your collection.

Seems like because of yourself thinking it might be perceived of being rare you might be going to buy it. Myself only buy watches that I want to own and wear irrespective of being rare or hyped as must buy,but choice is up to yourself only..

Strange question. It’s number two on your list and they allocated it to you.

You attracted to the watch because it’s rare or you actually want it?

Buy it with your ____. Don't worry about specs and spreadsheets. You need to love it.

You will lose money on a white gold watch right now if that is something that bothers you.

I dislike these “should I buy it?” threads. If you need to ask strangers, on a forum, whether or not you should buy a particular watch, the answer is an emphatic “No!” If you really wanted it, and money was not an issue, you wouldn’t ask anyone. You’d just pull the trigger.

Almost no Rolex is rare . Both those watches are hard to get. If you can swing it go for it. If not keep waiting. Depending on your ad and how they run they business, keep in mind that SS Daytona might never come if this 126509 exact configuration is on your list. Because they offered it to you you decline.

Just got a 126515 and love it. I find the oysterflex to be very comfortable. I prefer wearing it to my 116500.

The 126509 is a great watch.

It seems odd to me that you put down 2 watches on your EOI if you only truly want one.

That watch you have been offered is so good, I would take it.

I'd get the white dial (of either one first), then later a black dial (of one or the other).

I’ll say what no one else wants to say and what you don’t want to hear.

There is no flipping value or safety net in the PM Daytona.
You’ll lose money if you try and liquidate it anytime in the next 5 years.

It is, however, a beautiful watch though, and one I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up if I had the funds for it.

The watch is beautiful and since you like it enough to be one of your choices, then I suggest you go for it.
