Discovered A New function For My Daytona

I just got a New OF 126519 WG Black Diamond Dail and I absolutely love it. I travel a lot and just discovered that if I reset and start the chronograph at exactly 12 in the the other time zone I want I can use the hour subdial as a GMT function. Just thought I’d share. Also I’m trying to upload some pictures of my new acquisition but for some reason no matter how many times I try and down size it all I get is it’s to large.

I had to look at my Daytona for a minute to get this. Not a bad idea.

Not sure if it damages the watch, but it will drain the power reserve.

Another feature/use I discovered was that if I melt down my YG daytona, I can make gold buillons out of it.

Always amazed that probably successful people seem incapable of adding or subtracting the required number of hours for the time in a different zone.

I ve done that for a period of time, works like a charm, i was always a little scared that it would ruin the movement somehow (tho Rolex says it doesn’t) so I don’t always have it run that way.
I also used the chrono as a date function where I’d let the chrono run for a minute and use the minute sub dial as date counter, but that’s more unpractical than the gmt hack, and you are also kinda screwed when the month has 31 days

The vertical clutch column wheel experiences no additional wear when running 24/7. Not a concern.

You're thinking of horizontal clutch chronos.

No noticeable change to power reserve.

You can also leave the pushers unscrewed 24/7.

They are not part of the waterproofing function. They are just doorstops that keep you from pressing the buttons under water.

That’s my understanding as well.

Actually you are the person I first heard of using the 22 hour chrono hand for tracking another time zone … just last week in your post

Nice! Despite discovering it for myself a few years ago the first mention of it on TRF I could find was 9/9/2018 and belongs to:

I've seen this pop up from time to time. It sounds logical. I suppose you might wear the movement a bit quicker but Rolex don't make rubbish movements.

True, but it's handy if you forget the time difference itself.

The 24 hour counter also works as a great AM/PM indicator for those that can't work out if its morning or afternoon

22 hour chrono hand Brian? Is that the new Rolex Daytona "faux-mans" you are referring to there?

Don't Daytona wearers get their arm chopped off when traveling overseas?

Wear a GMT, no one gets mugged for that.

I have tried doing this with a Chrono before but fate has a way of keeping me busy at that exact time.
