The yatchmaster saga

I have developed a passion for the yatchmaster, my grandfather let me try on his ss plat yatchmaster tonight and it felt great on the wrist and was actually heavier than my tt black sub.

I love the bezel on the yatchmaster and i'm thinking about doing a trade for an all gold yatchmaster or tt yachmaster with a blue dial, what do you think trf, i'm losing sleep over this one and i have already contacted my ad in chicago and he has one on standby, should i go for it, help.

P.s the passion for the ym is deep.

If you like it, and you want it that badly, then get it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

BUT also check out pre-owned - the YM takes quite a hit at the momnent and you can pick them up virtuallly new for a lot less

YM - TT with the MOP dial is one of the best looking rolex's. THe full YG YM is kinda ugly, no offense but would rather go for a YG -GMTc if i had the choice

Deserted - sounds like you're hooked...

I have a SS/Platinum YM, and it is fantastic! I always look forward to wearing it. It's a completely different look & feel from the TT black Sub. Not better or worse, just different. For me, it's one of the most versatile watches I own. Because it's SS, it is perfectly at home as a sport/casual watch. But, the polished center links and platinum bezel also allow it to look great with a suit & tie.

I know the Yachtmaster doesn't always get the attention the Subs, Seadwellers, GMTIIc's get, but I have never met a Yachtmaster owner who wasn't extremely happy with his choice.

Sorry for being such an "enabler", but I think you'll be very happy if you decide to go the YM route! Good luck!
Steve

PS - If I could get a good buy on a white dial/gold bezel YM second-hand, I would probably get that one as well. It looks fantastic (and very legible) in pictures!

YMs aren't my cup of tea, but I'm excited for you. If the "passion is deep" go get one ASAP.

Deserted...What style Yacht-Master does the AD have and have they given you a price on it??? Be careful though as they wont give you much on your Trade!!
If its really a deep passion, then I say go for it!!! As long as it pleases you then thats what matters.....

The S/S YM offers a nice mix of sportiness and dressiness. I also like the TT version, either with blue or white dial. It's all good my friend - if the passion runs deep, go for it!
