Thoughts on buying new from internet dealer

Someone please comment on an internet dealer that offers Brand new with box and paperwork and Original 2 Years International Manufacturer's Warranty. Most dealers on internet do not offer a warranty card with their watches. Instead they give you an "in-house" warranty good for 2 years or so.

Is this international warranty valid when you purchase from an internet retailer?

Thanks for any help you can give.

are you talking about a rolex? if you are, the rolex warranty only applies if you buy the rolex from an Authorized Dealer(AD). If you get a warranty from an internet dealer which is 'international' that's fine, but understand, it's only as good as the company you're buying from, and you need to do thorough research on the company before you buy. If you're not sure, don't do it...and the warranty is only one issue: is the 'rolex' they're trying to sell you authentic?

If not you'll be just like this after you spend your money:

JIMHO, BE CAREFUL.

You can't go wrong with purchasing from a reputable seller here on TRF (warranty card and all)

I can recommend Alan Furman without reservation. Of course, they warranty the watches themselves.

I recommend Swiss Luxury as well. Bought my dad's watch from there and had some friends purchase from them as well. Everyone was very happy with both the prices and the service.

No..

Rolex does not sanction Internet sales by Authorized Dealers.. Even though you have all the paperwork in hand, this does not mean that the warranty will be honored.

In the US, they have many source codes flagged... you will be asked to produce an invoice to prove you bought the watch at an AD before they will honor the factory warranty.

Does anyone have experience with Stein Diamonds? They sell on internet and also have showroom in LA downtown. The warranty is two years from Rolex and "in-house" lifetime warranty after the two years passed, according to them.

There are a few good Internet dealers--Alan Furman, SWS, and the sellers on this forum, and even some others. I tend to be suspicious of dealers who try to pretend they are offering an official warranty when they in reality are not.

Stein Diamonds is not an Authorized Dealer for Rolex watches and cannot give you a legitimate "two years from Rolex" warranty...... Only Authorized Dealers can provide a legitimate Rolex Warranty..

If that is what they tell you, then they are playing with words and their "warranty" is likely completely in-house.

But don't take my word for it...Call Rolex...... it's just a phone call and they will answer the phone... or write them.. It's only a stamp..

It's best to buy from an AD in your area IMO.

You can buy any place that you want to....... Just be aware of what you are getting..

Officially, Rolex only sells through Authorized Dealers in major market brick and mortar stores... they do not advertise or sell on the Internet.

If you're buying it on the 'net or any other way, it is not an authroized sales agent.......... check references..........
